No, it said the lower Appeals court has to rule.............and no skipping ahead...............SCOTUS states in the rejection, that it is waiting for an appeal from that court........... with steak knives ready, if the lower Court does not shitcan the ban outright..

Yeah........the lower court up held the injunction, but the next higher appeals court denied it on an emergency basis, and that was just a toilet paper ruling.........ignoring strict scrutiny, Heller, McDonald and Bruen..so we know how it will go there..........and then to SCOTUS, to give the commie lower justices a big bitch slap.

What Does Justice Barrett's Denial of the Illinois Injunction Really Mean to All of Us?
No different than NY. They play gamesmanship and push the envelope, then bend it, fold it, turn it inside out, and then try to switch it for an envelope of a different color - all to avoid making the ruling that goes too far that SCOTUS can slap down. Meanwhile, YEARS pass and we're still fucked, and the Justices are getting older when the most damaging Administration in history keeps itself in power by any means necessary. It ain't gonna' end well.
