Tale of two bills

We have two bills in the house right now.
The HPA, hr 367.
And SAGA, hr 3576.

SAGA has its text stating that any rifles and shotguns can no longer be further regulated by the state government than it is at the federal level.
The HPAs text states that silencers shall now be treated as long guns.

Potential overlap here??
Is it saying long guns and rifle and shotguns enough to make suppressor legal here should both of these pass?

You would need the HPA to pass for SAGA to pertain to silencers. It would be absolutely incredible to see both of these pass but I won't hold my breath. If I had to choose only one? If I was still in NY I would obviously choose SAGA. Now living in America I would choose HPA.

Like I've said numerous times, the only way we will get our rights as americans back is for the federal government to take massive action up to and including military force to punish states who violate federally guarunteed rights. I don't care if it comes to civil war. The USA as it exists and is run today is a bullshit farce of a country. The states have so much leway that, for any practical analysis, the is no US, just 50 separate de-facto nation-states.

i read some where .. just wish i could find it again to post ... we have the bill of rights and the constitution & that states can't pass laws reducing them rights only to pass laws to give us more rights ...

I believe you actually have it backwards. States can't pass laws that are more lax than federal. If what you say is indeed true than they do it anyway and the only way to get the more restrictive laws off the books is to challenge it.

They just need to allow judgements by private citizens against states who infringe on their rights.

It wouldn't take too many million dollar settlements before N.Y. went shall issue.

I think you're right. But then lets look at that too. Which one of these hasn't been/isn't violated regularly in addition to laws made to circumvent them? The only one I can see that hasn't recently is 3. And that's that I know of.
