.308 Win
i bought a TC compass in 6.5 creedmore over black Friday. I didn't really get out to shoot it until recently...and boy, I'm disappointed...
Here is my email to TC/S+W
"Good morning,
I would like to report a possible warranty claim on my compass. It was purchased in November of 2017.
When I feed a round into the chamber, the bullet is being forced into the rifling. I don’t have a set of 6.5 creedmore headspace gauges, but I would think the spacing is too tight. This causes both hard chambering, and very hard extraction. I believe, that while I was able to fire some ammunition before truly discovering the issue, that this is an incredibly unsafe condition.
Please let me know if you’d like photos of the marks left on the bullets when chambering.
While I understand that this was a budget rifle, I am very disappointed. Please let me know the next steps in the process.
Thank you,
XXXXX XXXXXXXXXX"
When I looked around online, i'm not the only person to have this issue with this rifle in 6.5.
As some of you know, I just had to send a new savage .308 of mine back this week.I'm about done with American bolt actions. I swear, depending on the outcomes, I'll be looking at Howa and Bergara from now on...If TC would give me my lousy $200 back, I would go ahead a buy a howa in .243.
My Axis was 100% in every way. Now I sort of regret letting it go.
