The Fourth Industrial Revolution And The Great Reset​

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is here. Another step in the Great Reset, as presented by Klaus Schwab and The World Economic Forum. I am rejecting it all. Let me tell you why.

We could actually be in the birthing pains of a transition to a post labor economy.

So much is automated, or will be soon, that there simply will not be productive work available for 80% of the people.

Anyone who tells you they know what that world will look like is lying.

Most of the realistic guesses at what it would look like would make a good dystopian novel.

Also, industrial revolution is probably not the right name for what's coming.

The industrial revolution was what transformed the economy from agrarian to industrial.

The agrarian economy required the vast majority of people to work in agriculture. Literally everyone was a farmer, except for a small number of other professionals. Because when you're a farmer in an agrarian economy most of your harvest feeds your family, and you don't have much left to support someone else.

An acre was originally the area one man could plant or harvest in one day. Modern combines can barely turn around in an acre.

Then the industrial revolution happened, and suddenly tons of labor was freed up. One industrial farmer today can feed tens of thousands of people, not just his wife and kids. So that allowed most people to work in industries that just couldn't exist before.

Then automation freed up a lot of people, and we get the information age. Now instead of 1000 guys putting in one bolt each on an assembly line you have a couple guys watching robots put them all in. Maybe that should have been called the automation revolution instead of the information revolution.

Now we are seeing AI remove the need for human decision makers in a lot of industries. Self driving is going to make long haul trucking look like VHS rental in another decade or 2.

What this is doing though is removing any possibility for gainful employment for the lower intelligence percentile of the population. Bad things happen when 50% of your population is incapable of contributing meaningfully to society.
