It's literally a thing. It's real. And some people also have this same psychological defect.

I am reading the book when money dies dealing with hyper inflation in Germany 1920's .. At one point farmers did not sell any crops as they were getting hit with at hourly inflation . Perhaps barter but money was worthless. . Folks were starving. I mean dying starving. Groups of people would attack the farms take anything edible .. And kill what they did not take. In the end Folks living off the land had nothing also ... No horses for plowing .. Barns were set on fire .. No seed for next years planting. .... Actual history .. We could see again. We think we have "advanced " as a society ... Greater morals... We embrace the Trans trend with open arms.... we are the enlighten ones. ... Let society go to hell and see what happens... One will be living in the dark ages. Could be going back to the clans like Scotland .. Until a bigger force defeats them all.

That is one of the scariest books I have ever read. People have no idea what living in a hyperinflationary period is like. When you are in an environment where all of the money in your pocket or bank account will be worth 50% less tomorrow....it tends to focus the mind. Then think about living like that for a couple of years.

The distortions this caused were simply unreal. Every family had someone who was a money changer, constantly on the streets in touch with money exchangers to get the best conversion rate. All paychecks were spent immediately as soon as they were received because they would buy 50% less the next day. An explosion in suicides as older people living on a pension saw they could no longer afford to live.

People with hard assets like farmers became rather wealthy in terms of material goods. But once they satisfied their desires they refused to sell their goods for paper money that became worthless at the end of the week. So food supplies to cities started to decline.

Once you read what life was like during this time, you can easily understand why someone like hitler was able to get elected. That's right, the dolphster first came to power via a legitimate election.

if you're going to buy land, follow Bill gates and the rest of the rich dudes, they bought all the farm land along all the major rivers in the country. they now "own" the water right to tens of thousands of square miles of farmland.

You can buy raw land almost anywhere for next to nothing, but unless you can hydrate the land, you own..... dirt
