At NO POINT in the whole show did ANYONE suggest that holding criminals to account for their misdeeds was part of any solution.

The ugly and honest truth of the whole matter MUST be put on the table, be understood and acknowledged by EVERYONE before ANY real progress can be made to solve this. That, however, will never happen. There are several reasons, and perhaps the biggest reason is that actually solving "gun crime" is NOT the true goal of the politicians.
