Having fired both, I will attest that the trigger on the LCP II is worlds better than the LCP.
I don't generally ever get rid of a gun. It's not a rule, just a tendancy, so I'd keep the LCP if I were you and just add an LCP II to the stable.
I have 2 guns that I regularly carry, the LCP II and a G26.
At the range I am obviously quite a bit better with the 26 than the LCP, but I can reliably hit center of mass at 15 yards reasonably quickly with the LCP, so I consider that adequate.
The convenience of the LCP is just so much better that I find myself carrying it a lot. It is slower (especially drawing from a pocket holster as compared to my G26 from 4:00 in an alien gear), less accurate, and lower capacity (7 rounds of .380 compared to 11 of 9mm) but the convenience of just slipping it into a pocket vs putting on the holster for the G26 means that I can just grab it quick on the way out the door.
The .380 in your pocket beats the 9mm in your safe every time.

I really like the II trigger. It's very crisp and clean breaking. Very satisfying dry firing it.

I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting the Ruger security 9c. $320 bucks can’t beat that. I have to say though I haven’t been overly pleased with my Ruger guns.
I bought a sr22 and had to send it back. 40-60% failure rates. They basically kept the frame and everything else is new and it’s way better.
Bought my kid a new 10/22 all good except the mag jams up bad. Bought 3 used mags from CGrutt and they all work better than the new factory mag
My LCPII slide is rusting on the side that touches the pocket holster strap from them. It’s not even the part that touches my body??
I should call them and see if I can just send the slide back, but I guess it’s a very common issue and will just happen again. I’ll get it cerakoted at some point. If I could find a video on how to take out the internals me and my FIL can do it, but I can’t. So it’s $100 for cerakoted and $125 to take the slide apart. I paid $200 for the gun.

Mine hasn't started rusting yet but... Instead of cerakote and having to send it away just use duracoat. I did my 47, the 74 you see in my profile pic and my silencers. It holds up very well. And obviously can take the heat. Very easy and you can get a good finish if you do it properly.

When I get the custom sights installed, they said they will cerakote after the milling.

I wouldn't really know what to compare it to. All I know is it goes on easy and then gets very hard. Durable as well. On my guns it has held up perfectly. That's including on the barrels. On my silencers the only places it has come of are on places that I dinged against things and used tools on. I guess I'm kinda rough on them. We know that the finish silencer makers put on their stuff sucks anyway and comes off but again the duracoat has held up everywhere that wasn't abused. But this is where I think duracoat shines over cerakote. Those spots that have worn off... I can just go over them again. Don't have to do the entire piece over again. There is no having to send it away either. I know that you can set up to do cerakote at home but it's way more involved than duracoat. Duracoat is as easy as spray paint. Oh and it's comparatively cheap.
Something to think about.

Mine does too. Both sides of the slide in spots. It never touches my body though, just sits in the holster that came with it in my pocket.

I was gonna post since I got back from TN but never got around to it. I got to use an enhanced LCP while down there to shoot armadillos. Apparently they have alot of them there and they do damage. Anyway the trigger was actually very good. The sights were actually better than the stock LCP II. I know there were people questioning if the LCP 1 was worth getting so I would say if you can find a cheap enhanced get it. Make sure that both the trigger and sights are upgraded. @Marine Cpl if you don't mind saying what was the total cost of doing this? The sights look great.

$188.00. I just got the sights with the parkerized finish. They have other finishes that cost more and barrel polishing as well.

I just had to have my slide repainted with KG gun coat because mine was rusting so bad. Luckily my father in law has all the stuff to do it and it was free. I stripped it and put it back together. It was a pretty easy project. He then sand blasted it and coated it for me.
