I get your point but as an event organizer you can’t ask people to come to an event on a volunteer basis knowing they may get arrested for that event. Many people don’t know the new law exists and if they are still have ing the event then they would think this is ok’d legally and it’s frankly not legal anymore.

The additional issue is even if these are on private property it’s an event and no guns at events anymore. What’s an event? I dunno. I’m having a birthday party on Sunday at my house, that’s an event.

Here something to think about.Our Color Guard for the American Legion might not be able to fire rifles at funerals because most cemeteries are “sensitive zones” owned by municipalities.

I called it the other day. Veteran memorials with honor guard and rifles are ILLEGAL at sensitive locations.

Who is going to call the state police and report the color guard at the Bills home opener? They will be felons if they have their firearms.

Every firearm owner in NY should report ANY firearm at a sensitive location outside of a LEO. Flood them with calls for the safety of the people…

You can certainly aprise them of the new status and ask them to evaluate the risk personally.
