Troy PAR?

Anyone have a Troy PAR? I've been thinking about picking one up. Not really an AR replacement, but they look like they could be fun. Not a lot of stock out there, so either Troy is not making many of them, or dealers are not interested in stocking them.

Thoughts?

I thought the pump action pistol was kind of cool to be honest, looks like it doesn't exist anymore. I'd rather build another AR instead of buying one of those too. The quality fit and finish on them is great, but If you make your own bolt action etc or something, you can interchange all parts later down the line. The only advantage I see is not having to take away from your sight picture as you rack the next round. That's not something I care about personally though. Maybe make yourself a side charger or something.

picked up a 308 version last week for 799...I was very impressed with how slick the slide was during operation. It's also very light (perhaps due to lack of buffer and spring?)

Wish they made one with at least an 18 inch barrel though for .308.

So, I pulled the trigger (so to speak ) on the 308 model. Grabagun had one back in stock for $743. Order went through and FFL was verified. A couple of days later my order was cancelled without explanation. I replied to the cancellation notice, and their explanation?

"Sorry, that rifle is not legal in New York."

Yes, the pump-action rifle designed to be 50-state legal is supposedly not legal in NY. Derp. I had heard Grabagun could be flaky, so maybe that was just an excuse? They didn't actually charge my card, just an authorization, so at least there is no real headache involved, just frustration.

Pretty sure they have a fluted chamber, at least in the .223 version. I did see a thread on 68forums where a guy from NY re-barreled it to 6.8. Didn't mention any extraction issues with the standard chamber.

i have the .308 version as well, i really like it.
good quality, smooth action, accurate, and runs clean (compared to an auto loader)
i would recommend it.

Where did you buy from, Mister White, if you don't mind me asking? It turns out GAG did charge my card the day after I got a "Refund" invoice, so I'll have to wait for that to be reversed, but spring can't be too far off, right?

I looked at them when they first came out. Called Troy and had a bunch of questions, which they answered. The negative for me was the non compatibility of it to the rest of the AR world. Had it been backwards compatible to the milspec lowers I would have jumped on it.
