So when exactly is the check mate? Because in the past week Trump's claims about being tapped by obama have come up with nothing but humiliation by him as comey, NSA director smack all that down in court and the media had a field day. And now at the final moment his bill is pulled and now "obamacare is the law of the land for the forseeable future". And Trump's response now is essentially that he's giving up on it and obamacare is going to implode and tough shit I gave you guys a chance you blew it, no second try.
The republicans have everything they wanted. The presidency and congress are theirs. And they still can't pass a health care bill because they never had one. For all these years of whining they never even figured out what would really happen if they had a chance to repeal it.
I know the news media is hard to follow but actually Trump won this round of "being spied on" when it was confirmed he was.

Trump claimed Obama wiretapped him. The closest we have now is that he may have been picked up as part of some investigation for other people--some very vague stuff from Nunes, who has since equivocated: House Intelligence chair partially backs off claim about surveillance of Trump transition team
A couple days ago there was talking of an NSA "smoking gun". Where is this smoking gun? So far none has been illustrated. The onus here is on Trump. Thus far he is being widely mocked for saying something for which he refuses to produce any evidence.

Presidents don't run the House calendar, but Ryan is weak. So Trump scheduled the vote anyway, and now Ryan and Ryancare are history.

Ryan has been no good since his start. All of these happenings have been written on the wall for quite sometime. Trump does not want Ryan, Trump as well as many who really pay attention to what happens in Washington, knew this would not go to a vote. It will in time, when it does, it will fail to get the votes needed. Ryan, as a leader is done. He may not even win re-election. I believe this is all part of the plan. I hate the phrase, but Trump will indeed "Drain the Swamp". It takes time; cannot happen overnight. Ryan is in fact part of this Swamp.

I'm telling you, the media has done a great job of making Trump look bad and spinning the facts to make his policies look worse, but the man is BRILLIANT. So much goes on behind the scenes and out of the public view that we are unaware of. I too fear at times that Trump is being steered in a bad direction and is getting undermined by Obama plants/leftovers, but honestly I don't think that is what is really going on. If you watched any of the interviews with Trump from long ago, talking about how pissed off he is by how this country is being taken advantage of and run into the ground, it's easy to tell he has a genuine hatred for the establishment. He knows what he is doing, he's had ample time to think about it, the establishment knows this and is shitting all over themselves because of it. What he did with Ryan was completely out maneuver him and turn the trap Ryan was setting for him, against Ryan. This I'm sure is sending chills down the establishment's spine.
Every news story that relayed his private conversations is proof of the surveillance yet that obvious and logical item seems to have escaped yours and the MSM's notice.
I believe Trump is in command of the situation and this is one of the first steps towards draining the swamp. The media and antis prefer you think otherwise. Keep watching NBC.

Not widely read and over 25 years old. Regardless, I'm half way through it (reads like a spy novel). It is well referenced. The point being that 1) the media have always been liars, 2) the Watergate Commission told us virtually nothing about what really happened and 3) what went on behind the scenes was largely unknown, especially the mechanizations of John Dean. Nixon and his immediate underlings (Haldeman, etc) were totally manipulated by Dean. They certainly bear blame, but it wasn't their original idea.
As an aside, at the time of the book I was a confirmed leftie and disliked Nixon intensely, still do. This book is an eye opener about how morally bankrupt the media, the politicians, and the bureaucracy (including the CIA and FBI) was and still is.
They're scared shitless of Trump, because he doesn't operate in "their swamp" and he doesn't give a shit what they think of him. IMHO, he is so far ahead of them in his thinking that they can't even see it.

And I do believe to a massive extent we are all being surveilled in ways the government is pretending we are not (Snowden ripped off any illusions to the contrary).
