"Upon arriving at the first scene on Cemetery Road, Deputies discovered a female who had been in a vehicle and was a victim of a gunshot wound. She was identified as Kaylin A. Gillis, age 20 of Schuylerville, New York. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Through the preliminary investigation it was learned that the vehicle the victim was in mistakenly pulled into the driveway at the Patterson Hill Road address. The homeowner fired at least two shots, one of which struck the victim while she was a passenger in a vehicle."

It's raised $74,000 in the first day, which is not bad but somehow seems less than the nearly $3 million that the KC teen hauled.

Again, we only have early facts, but if you shoot someone on sight in your driveway, you do deserve to hang.

If you're that hostile to visitors in your driveway, invited or accidental, you better have a locked gate, fence with razor wire, a German shepherd and a big-ass NO TRESPASSING and BEWARE OF DOG signs. You don't have a right to gun down confused people or Jehovah's Witnesses regardless of their appearance.

I was a UPS delivery driver and occasionally work Amazon Flex for fun money. With all that is in the constitution, 2A is the only one that can kill another person and the defense is a personally perceived one. I'm all about one's personal rights under the constitution but mental capacity, although a slippery slope, has to be part of a conversation. To avoid it is irresponsible.

It's clear that you can be declared insane and have all your rights intact except for one. Currently this is allowed and we don't discuss it, but go along with it. I haven't heard any ones opinion on that on this board. But it's a conversation that is coming right at us. Better to be prepared for it.

Nothing vague about it. It would only appear vague if your trying to square with an argumentative all or nothing position.

My post is only meant as an observation for a discussion that is coming our way. How we handle it counts.

It would be great if in both these cases the mental capacity of both were normal. We will have to see. But if they are deemed mentally deficient in any capacity, the all or nothing argument will not hold with independent voters.

No one had to ask Biden to call Ralph Yarl, release media photos and a statement, and tweet from his accounts about his shooting and his call to Ralph. There's not a word from the White House about Kaylin, or about the kid in Phenix City, where the local news covering his death can't even get his name and age right, or the countless blacks killed by other blacks. It's only the rare white-on-black killing that attracts non-stop national outrage and baying from the President on down.
