“(aa) Distribution of code for 3D printed firearms.—It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally distribute, over the internet or by means of the World Wide Web, digital instructions in the form of Computer Aided Design files or other code that can automatically program a 3-dimensional printer or similar device to produce a firearm or complete a firearm from an unfinished frame or receiver.”.

This specifically states "automatically program a 3d printer" OK thats fine. Instead of using .stl files they can distribute them as .stp. A 3d printer will have no clue what to do with that. The process is no longer automatic.

The liberator and its successors are good for one thing, popping an enemy at close range and taking their weapon. We are well past such dinosaurs. Technology and innovation has come a long way, one can now print a semi auto pistol/carbine with zero "gun" parts that are surprisingly reliable and accurate.
