I would not shoot someone running away with my stereo or even my car. Those things can be replaced.
But threaten me or my family inside my house and I am going to do everything possible to protect them and protect myself.
I know how sad this might be but best thing would be to educate your kids to be good citizens and avoid crime that will put them at risk every single time.
