Wow. Normal annual fee is $163 and $263 per year but they will add $10,000 to comply. The cost to install is $135,000-$200,000 for these charging units. Say good bye to any independent gas stations in Vancouver. Is close all the gas stations if I were these companies to send a message

Still couldn't care... and those stations will undoubtedly pass on the cost to those who use their kW chargers... Lol

It's bound to happen as Brandon has professed the E-Vehicle as the way of the future and did so absent the infrastructure to support it. The only way forward is to mandate that existing Gas Stations install charging stations! The commercial parking lot is a more broad stroke, and I doubt would be possible to mandate. What the Federal Gov't has already done though, in new construction is give tax abatement for those projects that include these facilities (charging stations). An incentive! Not mandate... Mandating is another thing entirely. Getting a law passed requiring it is another threshold not easily surpassed. Let alone post November midterms!

E Vehicles will lose their Fad when people start having to replace batteries. Wait for the dumps to be filled with them too, because there's NO law requiring any recovery or environmental protection by re-use or re-generation of the power units. It will be a mess in about 10 years!

There will be less gas stations. Small independents can’t afford this and not enough EV users so we will get the cost as well.
