In the sale section at the bottom of the forum there is a ad for brass, a 5 gallon bucket of 223 mixed brass is $123.45.
They have brass in 55 gallon barrels. They are out of Colorado, Maybe military brass?
I think used brass should be worth half of what new brass cost, but used brass varies from caliber to caliber, time of year and region to region.
Before I got into reloading I picked up all of the brass I could scavenge at the gravel pits that people let there after they were done shooting and I bought some off the local hunting forum at a decent price.
223 ammo is really inexpensive so I find a ton of it, Never looked to see what just the new brass sells for, Next trip to Cabelas I'll check it out.
My uneducated guess would be around 10 cents a piece.

Fired brass is basicslly worth scrap prices. (Magnum rifle brass geta more)
A friend is in the reloading component business. He ised to sort and sell fired brass. Now he just takes to to the recyclers. Better money, less work. He takes tons......

Try to find 32 Remington brass.
I got hell of a buy on a Remington 141 in 32 Remington, I already had a Remington 141 in 35 Remington.
As popular as 223 is and as cheap as it is there is a ton of brass out there.

I'd take a look on gunbroker and see what they go for, you'd get a jist of what casings go for
