Would love to pick up one of these at some point. A replica is fine -- I just find the style of it cool. Doesn't have to be a collectors version. Wonder how much the replicas go for.

Later .30-.30 Win 94's can be found for ~ $350 to $400 no problem. Nice shooters, and just plain fun. Maybe even less if you are lucky. Pre-64, not so much.

I have a 1973 Winchester 1894. I love it, just wish Winchester hadn't reduced the quality of their receivers and other components. I'm looking at having to Dura Coat my receiver because the alloy receiver won't take new bluing or any other finish.

Outside of something that is meant to look banged up and worn, like an AK, I wouldn't use Duracoat. It scratches with use and eventually looks like garbage imo. Better to just give the finish a good polish and keep it oiled.

I've thought about clear dura coat. Up to now I've been using Barricade and most recently Eezox.

As long as you keep it oiled and cleaned, it should be fine like any other metal.

Personally, I just bought a gallon of Mpro7's oil a while back. Cuts down on the cost per once.

I remember seeing some tests of different brands of CLPs on metal, and their resistance when being sprayed with water and salt water periodically. MPro7 did decent to above average. Although you might want to get the Corrosion X spray and just spray the gun down good as a base coat, and just re-oil with your CLP of choice regularly.

Levers are new to me. This past year I just picked up a Mossberg 464 in Marincote and grey stock. I like it, now I'll have a 357 on the bucket list.
