Friday the 27th of September, I stopped by the Bass Pro Shop in Auburn NY and begrudgingly filled out ammo purchase form for a box of Barnes .223 copper bullets for the upcoming deer season. After filling out the BS form, I was then told by Bass pro employee that my request was on hold, and I would have to wait a one hour to one day, to which I replied BS forget it, I have people to see and things to do. Our State at Its Best!

Just buy ammo outside of NYS. If they don’t want you to spend money here don’t. I have vowed to never buy ammo again here as long as the background check is in effect. I’ve bought in 2-3 states now other than NYS NYS like taxes but they will get less of mine.

If there’s a Native American reservation near you just buy from someplace on the reservation. Most ammo companies will ship to the reservations as they are a sovereign nation and nys laws do not apply on the reservation.

Sad part is not only did you not get your ammunition, but now your personal information is in hands with limited control and no accountability, and if they actually entered the information, then now the State and Tyler Industries has all your information including that you use ,223 Ammunition in some sort of gun...Did they collect the processing fee from you?

Federal laws apply to reservation land. State laws do not. So nys troopers can not come onto reservations and arrest people for crimes. They have to get reservation police to do that.

Federal laws apply to reservation land. State laws do not. So nys troopers can not come onto reservations and arrest people for crimes. They have to get reservation police to do that.

For crimes committed on the reservations. They can go serve warrants on the reservation or at least they could. They don’t like to. When my dad was sheriff they did this and they hated it because it usually didn’t go well.

So, if you're denied does the NYSP now have probable cause to presume that because you tried to buy ammunition, that you have gun(s)? and the same "research" that used in doing so now supports a warrant to see if you have guns and or ammunition (they are treated equally)

I never filled anything out at sportsmens warehouse, they charged me the fee anyway. I saw them recording the lot number on the boxes of ammo i was about to buy in their computor. When i saw them gathering the lot number, i questioned why, they told me it was for the ammo background check. I instantly told them to shove that ammo right straight up their asses. I paid for my other stuff and left. I then noticed the charge on the receipt after i got home. I still haven`t been able to get my money back yet. My next step is to have my lawyer send SW corporate a letter of notification of a incoming lawsuit against them. I know that the ammo BGC fee is small, but that`s NOT the point of it.
