Plausible, but highly unlikely to be a slow release, as the hammer/trigger/sear either catches or it don't...now if the lockwork was heavily gummed up that would cause problems slowing the operation, however on its face, I'm calling bullshit.

I've given this a little thought (very little) and I want to change my position, I do NOT think it was a cook off! I think it's faked, reason being many many years ago when I was a young E-4 I opened up with a M60 and ripped off several hundred rounds nonstop. This was at night and created quite the show as the barrel was glowing red, not one round 'cooked off' nor did the gun 'run away'. Ahh good times!

Watch the vid, the guy is standing there in a unnatural position holding the gun down, it's almost like he knows theres a line tied to the trigger!
