Last year the approval times for many clean "expedited" resident active military CCW permits have been approaching the FDACS legal maximum 90 day limit to approve or deny.
Maybe she stopped stalling applications after she started running as the Democrat against DeSantis for Governor.

Got a Florida renewal processed by mail, and in my hands, in 3 weeks.
I am down here at the moment - so I handed in;
proof of citizenship
Gun training course certificate
Drivers license
and that was it
they did the fingerprinting and photographs
This is for an out of state CCW
Cost was something like $110 if I recall
From my reading, this allows me to Pick up hand guns same day of purchase and no waiting period, which is nice and how it should be in any case

Interesting - I cannot find anything that states you need to be a permanent resident to pick up same day
All I can find is here;

(a) When a firearm is being purchased by a holder of a concealed weapons permit as defined in s. 790.06.
And reading 790.06, I cannot see anywhere it states must be a permanent resident with a CCW?
Maybe wrong and no major issue, just cannot locate the info that says Out of State CCW must wait?
And I also know that at the Palmetto (Bradenton) gun show last weekend I was at, people were walking away same day with a CCW.................but no idea if they were permanent residents or not

So essentially, I can purchase it in FL, send to NY and then take it back to FL?
No point in that process - just take my existing guns down to FL.............would be easier!
Or, if my wife purchases in FL (she is a resident) can I then have use of that gun as a CCW in FL?
And I now found the legislation confirming an out of state person cannot pick up in FL - thank you for that

Here's the deal . . . if you an prove that you are a resident, through ownership of property, then you have dual residence. Your NY driver's license proves who you are, and a government issued bill will prove your Florida residency.
Now getting them back to NY is a whole different thing. You cannot just drive them back. They MUST go back to an FFL in NY, and as I found out, you can't send them yourself per NY law. They have to ship FL FFL to NY FFL. They get put on your permit and then you may travel back and forth between NY and FL.

I am well versed in the process . . . I have worked at two different FL FFLs and been a dual resident of either FL or AZ and NY. NY as you may guess is the log jam in the process. . .

Couple of points............
I am NOT a FL resident, my wife is with FL DL. etc
My state of Residency is currently CT and I have permits for both CT, NY and now the out of state FL CCW
My wife is actually purchasing a gun down here for herself and has both NY and CT permits (like myself)
I have just been issued the out of state CCW - my wife didn't get this as she is resident and does not need CCW, unless of course she wants to carry, which she may do at some point and will then get it
I have utility bills (gas, water, etc) in my name in FL, but my Drivers License is CT and will be for the foreseeable future - for work purposes, I need to retain CT/NY residency for maybe a year or so
My wife is resident and has her FL license, vehicle registration, insurance etc for FL oh her vehicle only
I suppose the easiest way is simply purchase in CT (state of residence) and then ship the gun, FFL to FFL (in Florida) and then I go and pick it up at the Florida FFL?.................since it appears i made a mistake and assumed i could purchase and pick up in FL............my stupid mistake!

You can do even easier than that...
Purchase in CT. If driving to FL, lock it up a hard case in your trunk or the rearmost part of your vehicle. Drive to Florida. If flying, lock it up in a hard case in your luggage. Declare firearm when you check in. Enjoy your flight. Pick up luggage with firearm in Florida. If you insist on shipping it, you can ship via UPS or FedEx (not USPS) to yourself in FL. No need to ship FFL to FFL.

In terms of packing them in luggage - I had read about that but was terrified of getting some NAZI TSA Agent creating an issue for me - no reason why as I would fly from Westchester and I have a NY permit and fly them direct to Tampa ............and I have a FL CCW
I watched a couple of videos on flying with them - hard case, locked, unloaded, trigger lock, no ammo, etc and in your checked bags...........all fully declared at check in

Your CT drivers license is your ID. Your water bill that is issued by the city of Sarasota or the county of Sarasota (a government entity) shows you are a resident. Your FL CWP allows you to buy and take after completion and approval of your background check (4473).
Take all three to your nearest large gun store (not a Wal-Mart, Cabela's, etc) and talk to them. You may be surprised. It's not that hard (when store chain store rules are not applied). Most independent dealers already know the rules.

And once you have your FL CWP in hand there is no three day wait. Always a 4473 background check.
There was a time not too long ago when I had places in NY, AZ and FL, had a NY driver's license, FL and AZ ID cards, and permits from FL, AZ, PA and finally NY. When I sold my NY property I did a change of address. The permit office informed me that I needed to turn in my CWP. They said if I voluntarily sent it back they would reissue if I ever came back to NY to live . . . We both laughed and laughed and laughed . . .
