Except we can't pick and choose when a case is heard by SCOTUS. Once this is denied it's lost forever. We're out of cases as far as I know.

If the US AG argues in favor of a case being heard does that add weight? We're honestly on the brink of losing our rights forever. There won't be a federal ban for decades, if ever and there are no state or local bans coming anytime soon to challenge.

The decision is so morally bankrupt that to let it stand would be a travesty of justice. I feel so hopeless.

I was talking with my brother. He reminded me that the Tet Offensive was 49 years ago. Next year will be the 50th anniversary of the siege and Khe Sanh. I thought no government entity could take our rights away. We need to stick together or we are screwed. Gun owners need to just ignore illegal, unconstitutional rulings. When a law abiding citizen is arrested for disobeying these bans, millions of us need to come to their rescue. It takes a long time to get something to SCOTUS, we want one in the pipe when trumps Second justice is confirmed.

We do not want to wait years *after* he seats a justice for the right case to work it's way through the courts.

I've got relatives that live in Maryland. Although their AW restrictions were upheld, they still have more freedom in the selection of their MSRs than we do.

Although Maryland has a ban list (Firearm Search), that bans AR-15s by name along with "copies" of AR-15s, they can still have copies of non-banned models (like the Colt AR-15 Sporter HBAR), pistol-caliber carbines (which are not on the list), and AR-10s (which are not on the list). In Maryland, pistol grips, collapsible stocks, and muzzle compensators are not evil features. Their evil features are: a folding stock, grenade launcher or flare launcher, and flash suppressor. They are precluded from having two of evil features.

This should highlight just how egregious the SAFE Act really is.

For example, the Hi-Point 4595TS is specifically "not banned" on the Maryland list:

Yup. The ruling will allow more bans, by name, in NY. FUAC will add Maryland's entire law as an addendum to SAFE.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that these "black robed activists" simply do not care. If they understood (or cared about) the concept of the four boxes, they would understand (or care about) the Constitution enough to know that they have failed it and the people it is supposed to protect.

Lawsuits are never done. The NRA can file one on behalf of anyone and attack from a different angle if they wanted to.

Examples.

Joe the Plumber moves in from Pennsylvania. Upon moving he learns that his 9mm Hi point is arbitrarily considered an Assault Rifle based on features that make no difference to the rifle's capabilities.

Jane the Flight Attendant is a victim of violence. In her home state of New Hampshire, she purchased a .38 Special revolver for home defence. Upon moving to NY for work related reasons, she learned that she could not bring her revolver and was left defenseless.

Tim the Olympic trap shooter shoots 500 trap rounds a day. His local store cannot accommodate him so he buys online. Ect. Ect...

The point is that they don't have to attack the Unsafe Act as a whole. They can attack bits and pieces just like the liberals do. Let them explain why a Ruger 10/22 magically becomes an Assault Weapon because the stock has a hole in it. Let them explain why you need a concealed carry permit just to possess a handgun for home defense.

These lawsuits are easy to introduce but the NRA will not back them.
