Nope, I'm a good boy squeaky clean. But the delay he meant was due to the influx of everyone buying one for a holiday the backlog of the system right?

about 5 years ago I went to buy a handgun, they called it in and I was "denied"
I kinda freaked out a little and said " how could that be, I've had a permit for 15 years" the LGS guy said "relax, give it 5 minutes"
we waited, talked a little about ammo, he called back and BINGO.....okee-dokee? good to go
WTF was that? He said, "the system screws up sometimes, no problem"
so next time anyone is declined, just ask the salesperson to call back in few minutes

2) Four pistol permits
3) a gas card
4) $20 in cash
thats it.....I threw that 40 year old condom away. I figure if I haven't used it by now~~~~
EDIT: sadly, it's just been reported to me, that I no longer have $20 in cash.....I never had $20 in cash, it was my wife's cash all along.....my apologies for the incorrect statement

That would be a delay, not a deny. Delay means wait a little bit, the instant check couldn't green light the transfer. Sometimes it's 5 minutes to get the update, sometimes it's never updated, and after 3 business days the ffl may, if the choose, proceed with the transfer anyway.
