Don't know how this affects any or all but per an internet site recertification (if not done already this year) is due by midnight tonight. I did mine last August thinking I'd get the 5 years but low and behold,it was changed to 3 years even after it originally stated 5. I'm only passing this along. Don't shoot the messenger. Check your recert to be sure.

Do you have to edit the information on the site if you’ve added a pistol or semi auto?
They have a pop-up that says if you’ve already submitted the amendment to your local official there’s no need to resubmit.

Questions should be addressed to a person's local permitting office. I can't speak for their system. I know of a person who did the recert yesterday and saw a handgun still listed that that person sold and went to the permitting office and had it removed previously. I'd be interested to know what,if any action, has been taken to all the people who said they would NOT recertify.

I did My 5 year recert last August , before the new 3 year recert expecting to be good for the original 5 years. It originally came through as 5 but when I looked it up yesterday, it was down to 3 and 3 years from last years date.

Also interesting as there was no media hype about the recert. Figures

Can someone please post a website for the recert? I moved a few months ago and find half of my "stuff" lol.

Nosir just the opposite ... 3 years for CC & 5 years for premise. Below is a cut/paste from the NYS site.

A pistol or revolver license issued by New York City or Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties expires and needs to be renewed every 3 years.
A pistol or revolver license issued outside of those areas does not expire, but the license holder must recertify with the New York State Police every 3 years for a concealed carry license and every 5 years for other types of licenses.

I think Far king simply goofed, maybe a brain fart or maybe a mis-type. No real harm though as I think by now we all know the different recert time spans for Premises vs CC.

Either or.... NYS doesn't quite seem to have a handle on it yet. One part of the recert/renew site sez one thing. Then do a little digging and the site will cum up with something different. Hard to say if it's stupidity on the part of NYS or if it's intended. Could be either, or both.... I think it's prolly both. I went to the site to check my status and they give a date 5 years away to recertify. I have my CC so it should be 3 years, I think lol.

I wasn't throwing shade on Fk; the point I was trying to make is exactly what you described.
