This will go no where so don’t get your hopes up. I’d love to see it but never going to happen. I feel there will be parameters and NYS cost or time into it will be ruled unconstitutional but that’s all.

I wonder if this is why my wife can’t get a premise permit in my county anymore. I wanted her to obtain one to hold onto my pistols in case of my u timely demise for my children. Now you need the training just to apply and she won’t do that.
I still won’t expect much to occur. This was filed in 2016 so only took 7-8 years to get this far.

My best suggestion, if you were to croak is to have an "escape" plan for the guns to a free state. I'll leave it at that.

Kid turns 20 very soon but this would be great if it passes. He will get his permit asap because I will pay for all of it and get him whatever pistol he wants within any sort of reason. He wants an sig 365 not that he’s ever shot or handled mine.

He can lawfully handle and/or shoot your 365 while under the direct supervision of a certified instructor, right?

I don't see why he'd need an "escape" plan. Put it in the will that you're leaving your guns to "joe" who is an out of state friend or family member. Then the executor just transfers them out of state. When the son is old enough transfer them back.
Or if you have a friend in NY with a permit you trust leave them to him until he's old enough to take possession

That is an example of an escape plan for them.

I insisted Mrs. Shadow Rider apply, she has had a permit for years now even though she shoots rarely. All my handguns are hers as well. If she only knew how many long guns are not on the pistol permit...ouch)! But Honey-pie they're an investment!!! Also my son in Texas knows what I have and what was lost in the boating incident of Jan. 15 2013.

I agree. I think the court will back licensing but make it a shall issue permit/ license.

TECH HINT THAT WORKS FOR ME: On the Laptop there is an "Airplane mode" or disconnect internet connection (F12) as soon as the page starts to load and you'll get the story, but the pay-wall won't be able to kick in because you've stopped the internet.

Then that’s where that all occurred. Of all goes as planned I’ll get him the new 365 xl Spectre because I’m a nice guy and I want him to be into guns. My younger son has sensory issues and wants nothing to do with them.

Actually a trusted friend just got their permit so I may do this with him. Funny thing is my FIL has a permit and I’m not comfortable doing this with him. I’ve had a permit for years and he never put his guns on mine in case he died and he just told me the other day he’s putting all his on his sons. I get it but he’s done a few shady things. I built a .22 for my kids and he said he’d give me the money for it and never has and one of his pistols was supposed to go to me. He’s a retired salesmen and will argue for an hour to save a dollar.

It said nothing of the sort, and a license is still required in New York, for long guns in NYC, and for semiauto rifles statewide. What it did say was that the state could not require a showing of "proper cause" to issue a permit. If SCOTUS wanted to rule permits for possession entirely unconstitutional it had the opportunity to do so and passed on it (although that was not the question presented). There are several states that require permits to own any firearms, and there hasn't been a successful 2A challenge to that yet.

i'm on a Desktop pc with usb wifi ..

no airplane mode that i know of ..

Thank you and I agree. Just no need for me to keep arguing with him over this.
In fact if I remember correctly they said a permit is ok as long as it’s not too costly or takes too long.

and there wrong ... just like some other rulings they did that took 50 plus years to fix ..

that just put a poll tax on the 2A .. even if i was 1 dollar .. still a tax on a RIGHT ..

who was that SCOTUS that said some Rights can be regulated in his opinion .. but the 2A says SHALL NOT INFRINGE .

the only one that says that .. i wonder why ..

Find the 'F12' Function key at the top of the keyboard; that's where mine in and it simply toggles the Internet modem/connection on and off, which is essentially what "airplane mode" does. just stops the connection.
