The only way the NFA was upheld on constitutional grounds was because of the tax. Now that the taxes will be removed from silencers, SBS, and SBR, there's no basis for it.So some of you thought that the National Firearms Act of 1934 was going to be repealed or abolished? I never read anything about that. I read the NFA tax would zero or essentially removed. But nothing about removal of the act making machine guns, suppressors, SBR or a short barrel shotgun, all unregulated. I agree that it should be abolished but I didn't read anything about Trump doing that.

Like I said, Trump never promised the end of the act. New York and many other states would simply ban them. Placing the entire issue into the corrupt courts. We don't have a King but I see many when its serves their interest will crown one. Congress is the only way to remove the law or the courts. Maybe with the tax at zero, which will be argued that Trump, or any department under him, has not the authority to make is even zero will provide the relief we all seek. But the power of any Republic is in the hands of our elected representatives in Congress. That is where we should place our efforts. Of course out NY ones are useless so we would have to rely on the rest of the nation.

The NFA shouldn't be an item. That's why its titled as an act, and not law.

There were no arms "laws" until much, much, later.
Once time is served and sentence is completed, all rights are supposed to be restored. If one can not be trusted to not harm others, than they should remain incarcerated. Setting one free doesn't mean they won't harm another with a car, truck, bus, baseball bat.......or even a gun with the NICS system in place. It simply does not work. What it does, is creates a registry. Nothing less.
We are supposed to be a sovereign nation, as written in the original pledge of allegiance.

This is an interesting position you have. It's one that has to acknowledge that Constitutions Bill of Rights are not defined as absolute and therefor not bestowed upon us by a higher power such as God or Natural Rights. Which clearly was not the intent of the founding fathers.
So as a matter of political maneuvering, I would not say a thing if I were Trump. The fact that the tax is zero now opens the door the a SCOTUS case that argues that without the tax, the law itself is now clearly in violation of 2A. Let the court cases play out now as we all know Congress has the power to tax but in this case the tax has been removed. Whether that removal of the tax is lawful, we shall see.

The court cases will have a good leg to stand on for "common use". You know that come January 1st, people are going to be going crazy with form 1s because, why now? I predict the e form system will be crashing daily for the first couple months trying to deal with all the traffic.
