I know times are tough and I’m sure he shot them in the park there but three deer in o e night come on man. This area is pretty populated. This has me wondering if he was allowed to possess the firearm and I find it interesting the article doesn’t address that.

I get it that there are Laws and requirements, but more than likely he was doing the Community a favor taking them out.

I have an idea of where it is and there is a park there and surrounded by two fairly busy roads. There is a lot of traffic around there and many people watch the deer and walk that area. I’m not surprised someone saw it. There has been poaching in that area in the past. There are also full time paid county workers in that park all the time. Lots of bikers and dog walkers. My wife and I avoid that road now because we’re worried about hitting a biker or walker there are so many there.

A little more context from the town of Tonawanda police. Ellicott creek rd in the town of Tonawanda da is very residential with street lights all around it. The road is curvy and cars have been known to lose control and end up in the drink. Lots of people coming and going that time of day in that area. Houses line that entire area of the street except where power lines are. Even then you’re talking maybe 50’ to a house on either side.

Unlawful Deer Shooting Incident

Muhibul H. Anher, 59 years old, of Leroy Ave in Buffalo, was arrested for an incident that occurred on November 28, 2025, around 6:00 a.m. on Ellicott Creek Road. The investigation has revealed troubling details about the illegal shooting of a deer in our community.

On the morning of November 28, officers responded to a report of a suspected shooting. A witness saw a dark-colored SUV parked along Ellicott Creek Road. The witness observed several deer nearby and heard a loud bang, then saw a deer fall to the ground. Witness reports indicated that the vehicle later returned to
the area, and two men got out to drag the deer inside.

Officers quickly identified and located the vehicle involved in the incident. During a traffic stop, they found not only the deer in question, a deceased buck on the floorboard of the back seat in the passenger compartment, but also two additional deceased does that had been illegally obtained in the back of the SUV. Officers also seized a shotgun linked to the shooting.

During the investigation, it was determined that Mr. Anher was responsible for shooting the deer without the proper legal permits. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has taken over the investigation regarding violations of New York State Environmental Conservation Law.

As a result of our findings, Mr. Anher was charged with several offenses, including Penal Law section 120.20; Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree for discharging a firearm near residential areas, and Town Ordinance section 83-1 for discharging a firearm within the Town. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Tonawanda Justice Court on December 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.

This situation emphasizes the importance of responsible and legal hunting practices. We are dedicated to protecting our wildlife and keeping our community members safe. I urge anyone with information about this case or similar incidents to come forward.

I want to commend the officers involved for their quick response and thorough investigation, which resulted in the successful arrest of the suspect.

You might want to look at his name to see why I questioned his immigration status and if he’s legally allowed to posses a firearm in NYS. If you pronounce his name right you’re better than me.
