There are already laws about violation of rights under color of law. What we need are sheriffs (or feds) with the balls to start arresting NY politicians who vote to infringe our rights.

Thats what I am failing to understand, The shit is already illegal. This is about flexing and doing more Gestapo shit They are going after printers, the files and want to expand on regulating gun parts as well as making all guns illegal that have the capability to shoot FA (thats every semi auto out there)
There is a lot of pipe dreams in their desires, I do not see how most of it is enforceable.
Wouldn't make any difference as none of the usual suspects won't pay any fines and only time served (unless it's a no-Bail required offense, then they'll be set free before the Report is typed up) and as usual, the blame is placed on the object and not the asshole using it.

The number cited does not reflect the years of aftermarket production of ALL the parts and components constituting a "Glock" Pistol, so yes the supply is inexorable with future models irrelevant, especially considering all new Guns sold in NY are done through heavily regulated transactions with relatively very few stolen or misappropriated, it is well known the majority of Handguns trafficed illegally through NY are obtained (illegally) in other States and sent here illegally, to be sold illegally, to persons that cannot have one legally, so they are illegal, but who cares when you're going to use that illegal gun illegally to shoot or intimidate someone illegally....Did I mention all this bullshit is already illegal?

FWIW: I have seen AR lowers carved out of wood....someone with basic hand tools and a pattern (also widely available on the WWW with little search effort) could make their own from 1/4" plywood laminated into a block of wood from which to carve or router out...it's not fucking rocket science.
