Yeah, that was my point. When I originally applied for my CC in NY they dug up a minor incident I had forgot about that happened over 30 years ago when I was in collage. Enhanced id drivers licenses bullshit. They do a total investigation, because it is used by TSA and so on. Get a regular license and have a passport for enhanced id.

The wheels of justice turn slowly but are exceedingly fine.
Except for people who were denied enhanced drivers license and did nothing wrong in the past. They were denied because their id could not be confirmed based on simplistic algorithm used for enhanced drivers licenses. I have a news for you, government does fuck up, especially now with e-craze.

Same happened to me, though with a swifter resolution. I had failed to disclose an "arrest" (appearance ticket) on my application that had happened when I was 16, with charges that were eventually dismissed. I hadn't forgotten about it, but I did not know at the time that an appearance ticket counted as an arrest.
Fortunately, I was able to appeal and explain this to the licensing officer, and he approved my permit after that.
Still, it rubs me the wrong way for a multitude of reasons. One, lack of clarity in the application on the definition of "arrest." Two, sealed minor records. Three, they obviously have a record of our criminal history, the only point of making us disclose it is to try and jam us up. Four, denying our gun rights based on a failure to disclose an "arrest" for which no trial ever occurred and no conviction was obtained.
Their true intent is plain as day, and it has nothing to do with public safety. It's all about trying to find ways to deny rights.
I wonder IF Tyler Technologies is involved with this? They DO seem to have a lot of Government information contracts.
