I have to say, if I was working in a gun store, and was going to leave and head to a gunfight, I would not be bringing only a pistol.....
I would think the guys in the jewelry store expected this guy to show up with something a little heavier.
Can you guys imagine what @Bullet Guy would bring if he was rushing from work to help a group of friends who said they were in the middle of a gunfight ?
I'd be bringing a lot more than that if I was coming from home, let alone a shop.

From what I have read the vast majority of the Koreans were ex military ..

The guy has got brass balls. I don't think he should be just walking around with bullets flying by his face so he is incredibly lucky he wasn't shot. That has to be the worst case scenario for a store owner or even a home owner when the police leave as the shooting starts. If it is too intense for them, what about the average citizen? Good for him and the others who stood their ground and fought.
