The spur grip actually worked to his benefit to help him conceal it under his lab coat.

His last known address was a homeless shelter in Manhattan and he also somehow passed a BGC after multiple arrests when buying the rifle at a Schenectady gun shop 2 weeks earlier.

I'm pretty sure the morons in Albany will be sure to add yet another obtuse paragraph to the NYSAFE 2 Act that will outlaw carrrying a loaded long gun under a lab coat...unless, of course,- it is outfitted with a pistol grip in order to make it easier to spot!

I was thinking the same thing. How could it have been a legal sale? All else aside, if he showed a NYC address, the sale was a no-go. ALL AR variants except the Ares SCR are illegal here. Since he lived in an apartment only a few blocks from the hospital, he either lied about his address, or the store sold it anyway.

Maybe, since he was living in a homeless shelter, he decided to "move' to a shelter in the Albany area for a day or two, used that address, and then moved back to the Big Apple? It should be easy to figure out which address he used on the 4473 form. And I'm guessing that if he did use the NYC shelter address, that the FFL is in a bit of trouble?
