What Can Be Done About Washington Politics?

The people handed Republicans Congress. We did so because we were promised certain things. The people elected Trump because he promised what we wanted. Now the Republicans are blocking Trump from fulfilling his promises (at least to the degree they were promised.) Is there a Republican party left or do we now have a new party called Dempublicans? There doesn't seem to be much we can do. Independents are not likely to win in an election. At least not to the extent needed to make a difference. How can we force the issues? At this point I feel like I am done bothering to vote. With no honest choices it seems like a waste of time more and more each day.

Get it straight, the Republican Party was never in Trump's corner, never supported him and basically went along begrudgingly! And now, even after he kicked all their collective buttocks, they are still resisting, trying to make a name for themselves. The entrenched political machine is the problem, lobbying is the problem!

Want to change Washington? Outlaw lobbyist or buying as much as a Hot dog for an elected official! Simple, no? Institute Term limits so there are no career politicians and they'll focus more on representing their constituents rather than themselves! There's more... But what's the point? Nothing gonna change, they make the rules, they won't make rules that'll hurt themselves.

It will change politics, it will take time, but it will reel back the politicians to their base, to what it should be, their constituents, not those who will fund their next reelection!!!

When there's no worry about being kept around, you'll look to make good with the time you got.

Don't outlaw the lobbyists, outlaw accepting the money. Make all congresscritters put all their assets in a blind trust and live off their salary only as a condition of employment.

Its also up to those that vote them back in time after time even when they don't deliver on their promises. If we can't get term limits then just vote them out. Problem is too many people believe the lies and promises so we get the same screw ups put back in office each election

How about a million torches and pitchforks at the gates demanding change. Until that happens, you will get business as usual. They will deliberately dumb down people to the lowest common denominator so that people will be impossible to motivate to demand change.
