NYGF E-Mail Alerts & Preferences

You can unsubscribe to all email alerts in any of the e-mails by clicking "Disable all emails" on the bottom of the e-mail itself. You can also disable e-mail from that particular thread by clicking "disable emails from this thread".



To make is so you don't automatically receive an e-mail on threads you reply to, visit your preferences by clicking your username on the top right, then preferences - http://nygunforum.com/account/preferences



Once in your preferences, you can either set it to automatically watch threads you create or reply to or automatically watch threads and get an e-mail.



When starting or replying to a thread, you can choose to watch the thread, and also receive e-mail notifications. It can be either or.

Yeah, so I did everything shown to stop getting emails and it's not working. I keep getting an email every time someone posts after me. I had to just spam it; it's getting TOO f-ing annoying. Not sure why it's still sending emails after un-checking and saving it. We also shouldn't have to manually uncheck each post every time, that's really poorly set up, no offense.

Did you go into your preferences and change the default?

I had the same thing happen to me and on the email itself it had an option to unsubscribe from all emails. I did that and no longer get emails.

I also did the unsubscribe thing too! I just double checked and the preferences are indeed unchecked for emails as well, not sure why it's still happening?

I changed it so, by default, new users won't have that setting enabled. It doesn't really help you though. Let me see if I can find some other options for you.

Yea. It could certainly turn off non computer savvy people who sign up.

Same here, damned thing was going off constantly. Used the link on the email, and all is quiet on the gmail front....

I don't have access to the database to pull up your individual options. I can only edit some of them from the admin control panel. I'll page @NYGuns as he has access to the database.

It's the default setting for the forum. I don't think we ever changed it.

Im NOT getting any e-mails from NYG? I looked at my profile and everything is correctly checked for email notification.

what is different is my username on the forum. it should be Jmac00...( jmac zero zero) but it looks like Jmacoo (oh-oh) is that the issue?

Your email address has the 0's in it. I'll look into it, I know some local providers are blocking some emails, like optimum

Check your spam folder and white list the domain please.

Are you using an ISP? Hopefully e-mails from NYGF aren't being blocked by them..

my user name needs to have ZERO's in it. (jmac00) Jmac-zero-zero. If you're use "o"s it won't come through.
when I type it out on this forum, the zero's look like a letter? could that be the issue

I don't see your e-mails being bounced back. I see a bunch of Optimum Online e-mails being bounced back, but not yours. I also see zero's in your e-mail address. I am still investigating

I re-typed jmacoo <oh oh> and it found me???? there is something going on with the double aught? The software thinks it's <oh oh> instead of zero's

thats what Im saying, I think the program has a clitch, it's registering my name as oh-oh and not zero-zero. oh well., Im sure it will get straightened out

I can try and change your username to zeroes if you want, just say the word.

It's not the software dude, I see that emails are being sent out but blocked on your end. I believe it's your isp.
