Having been through the divorce mill, with a vindictive spouse, (who openly told me during it when I fought for custody: I can just file a claim against you that you hit me, and you'll never get the kids...), I know that this kind of shit will be used wrongfully against countless husbands and fathers, who will be completely screwed as a result.

Talk to someone who's been in a contested matrimonial, or ask any cop or lawyer how many bullshit accusations are CONCOCTED by angry spouses who're simply trying to inflict maximum damage on their partner. Family Courts are full of this kind of deceit and malicious crap, and the scumbags who wrote this law know it. It's truly scary that "our" leaders have chosen this dangerous tact, with full knowledge of what their actions will result in. I've no tolerance for any idiot who thinks physical/mental abuse is part of their spousal benefits, but the potential harm versus help of this asinine legislation is undeniable.

Agreed. Accusations should not be enough for this policy to stand, but I'm sure they'll allow for it anyway. I thought our justice system was supposed to be innocent until PROVEN guilty, not the other way around.

Basically it will go like this....

An angry vindictive ex decides to make your life hell

The Ex tells police you assaulted her and/or threaded to assault her and she is in fear.

Whether you actually assaulted her or not and if she's lying through her teeth, You will be treated the same and you will lose your rigjts

You will now lose your guns based on mere accusations and will go through hell and mucho bucks to get your guns back

just put a trail cam on your chest .. bet ya it will be a lot cheaper .. even it its one on the top shelf .. body cams are for Govt .. you know how that goes .. 500 bucks for a hammer or toilet seat ..
