Aside from the reason he was stopped, assessed, and arrested, let's look at the firearm part. Put him in a position (with an assumption he had a Pistol License; which it appears he did not?) where he needed to use the firearm for self-defense; a clear, cut, in the right, shooting where he prevailed. He STILL would get arrested for the magazine!!! Dumb arse...

Hold on there WillJr... like it or not (and for us it’s “not”), until a successful challenge to these idiotic laws has been won, our choice is to abide by them so we don’t jeopardize our (in this state) “privilege”. We are well aware life is grand one state over, but until my wagon is hitched up full of my stuff, I comply so it isn’t a hurdle when I reach that one, two, or 5 states over to call it home. We are all in agreement that it’s stupid, idiotic, and an infringement on our rights.
So as to your question: No. If he had this unfortunate run-in with the law one state over, the gun should not have been an issue, and DWI would have been his only crime. Now some of the states one over DO consider DWI a reason to remove (albeit maybe temporarily) ones right to carry... just sayin’

Did you read the thread and understand the points made in it? Is your .40 Cal Glock registered? Does a stock instead of no stock make the criteria for towing the line? I don't accept registration but you have to do it to protect yourself with a pistol if you don't want to go to jail like this guy did which by the way, I don't judge for his choice to do so without a permit.Says the guy who should have registered his MSR...

Second that. Like the registration or not, it is his (our) responsibility to abide by the rules. DWI/DUI is a BIG turn-off for the judges issuing licenses. It alone will sway an issuing officer (judge) to remove privileges.
He knew (or should have known) he shouldn't have had a firearm in his control while drinking, drunk, or similar. Is the state YOU reside in different on that assumption? I am a dumbass if I am carrying (legal firearm or not) while drinking, or over drinking, because as an adult I know better. Add to that he was driving; also known to be illegal in most all states. So if that is chastising him, fuck yeah I'm guilty.
