A few moments ago at my job one of my employees started to rant about how one of my personal friends who was involved in an altercation (he was pushing a BLM/Anti-PD protestor back after being first struck) at a Pro NYPD rally is racist.
I asked how he could say my friend was racist because he does not know him nor does he know the full story of what happened as he was not there; simply labeled as a "racist" because he was at a Pro NYPD rally.
Then I get called a racist for wearing a Grunt Style Tee which depics the US flag in bullets (I wear to work then change). RACIST for wearing a shirt that depicts the flag of our country!
When will this bullshit stop? As a manager I need to lead by example and do not get involved in political or religious discussions. But where do I draw the line when I constantly hear upper administration (especially my CEO), co-workers and employees in my hospital constantly demean/slander conservatives and/or Trump supporters for their views.
I feel like at this point it is becoming a hostile work environment. I even feel it from my Director (who I consider a friend - we've worked together for over 15 years). When he says things like "I can't believe you support that moron Trump" or other phrases along that line.
