The government wants us to accept the results of the election.
The onus is on them to demonstrate that it is reliably conducted.
In essence they are selling us the results and if they want us to buy, they need to demonstrate that it is a trustworthy product.
Right now many of us trust them to do this honestly about as much as we trust the Nigerian prince to double our investment. If they want my money (or allegiance) they need to provide better assurances than "trust me".

Back in 2014, I worked freelance for a public relations firm in New York City. It was there that I met an unusual woman. I didn’t know many lawyers or Texans, but I knew better than to chalk up her qualities to either her profession or her home. It’s rare that I encounter someone who I’m afraid to argue with, because of her sheer brain power and towering personal rectitude. But this was such a person.
This woman had quite a career behind her. An evangelical Christian, she’d been a federal prosecutor — and quit, outraged at the corruption she saw among her colleagues. She did more than quit. Horrified by prosecutors hiding exculpatory evidence and targeting the innocent because of their personal politics, she became a defense attorney, to help people fight the feds.

I think a lot of people forget, or maybe don't realize, that there are two separate games going on - both in the Trump and Biden camps - which will lead to one of them becoming president. The legal fight takes place at this point in court rooms. This is what really matters and this is where the evidence matters.
The other fight - for public support - is totally different and is likely not going to run parallel to the legal fight. This fight is a PR campaign. In this fight, they can exaggerate, mislead, obfuscate and lead us down a path that doesn't lead to legal victory but rather get public support for the candidate. Hopefully for the purpose of winning the election, and maybe for laying groundwork for things to come later.
So far, I believe everything Trump's team has said, every allegation they have made. I don't however think every fact and allegation they have made in public will be used in their court fights and filings and arguments. To think either side is going to try their legal case in public in front of the media -a hostile media in Trump's case - is ignorant.
For me at this point, this is nothing more than a reality show. I've got my favorite and I hope he wins, but there's not much I can do to affect the outcome. So I might as well follow along and enjoy the show.

The problem is this is not just a legal issue. As others have pointed out regardless of who wins the other side will feel cheated. This is a public relations issue as well as a legal issue. If they have the evidence I would highly recommend they release it ASAP so this effort can get some legitimacy with the larger population.

Why do people keep opining that the evidence of fraud compiled must be released via the legacy media to the general population? The legacy media, in very great majority (I'm being kind...from where I sit it's statistically 100%), is completely untrustworthy. The general population, as a rule, falls under the old saw of "stupid people in large groups". You can substitute apathetic, disinterested, or any number of other adjectives for stupid, if you prefer. Whichever invective you choose, the population by and large is content with bread and circuses and will not give any credence to something that isn't either tasty or titillating.
What is being stridently demanded by Carlson et al is nothing other than to try the allegations of election fraud in the court of public opinion. That is patently absurd and any rational adult should dismiss such nonsense out of hand. Children make such demands...and Democrats. Let the compiled evidence be presented in an actual courtroom, compared with the laws as written both federally and in their respective states, and if all these allegations we're seeing posted are actually true, bring the full force of the law to bear on the perpetrators, regardless of station.

Yes certainly. If the Trump team is able to show sufficient evidence to the court that the court steps in and rules in his favor, the evidence will be apparent to all. Whether or not the left wants to accept it is an entirely different question. Based on the last 4 years I’m guessing no.

Some would never be convinced by any evidence.
There are people out there who would believe it if Biden claimed to get 10 legitimate million votes in Philly alone. You could not convince them it was impossible.
The question is how many of the 73 million are persuadable, and what would the unpersuadable going to do about it.
You can say the same things and ask the same questions about Trump supporters.

I'm not sure there is anything at this point that could convince most people it was legitimate.
Many of us could see this coming well ahead of time. The existing system lacks enough protections for it to deliver a trustworthy result. There is no way to reconcile this election without re-doing it with robust audit trails and proper transparency.
You can count and recount fraudulent ballots as many times as you want, it's the validity of the ballots themselves that's in question.
Think of it this way, if the IRS went to audit your return, but you had tossed all your receipts, etc. What could you do ?
Would it even matter if all your deductions were legitimate if you couldn't prove it ? The IRS isn't going to sit there and try to prove your deduction is fraudulent, they're just going to say "you can't prove it's legitimate, so that makes it invalid"
They can't prove the votes are legitimate.
Recounts are just checking the math on the 1040. Without the proof the deductions are legitimate it doesn't prove anything just because the totals add up.
