This is... interesting. While "technically" feds do have jurisdiction over federal crimes, it appears that the local municipalities are arguing they have the power to stop it since such enforcement is criminal. It's ballsy. They may wind up being arrested for it as well. Who knows how this will shake out.

Just because something is unjust or unconstitutional doesn't mean law enforcement won't enforce it or believe it to be enforceable. They're playing a dangerous game with the feds.

Good for these guys, but they are playing a dangerous game.

There is not a federal court anywhere that will.side with the state.

So, when they arrest an ATF agent, and then the FBI sends their guys to arrest the cop that arrested the ATF agent, do they then send in a bunch of state troopers to stop the FBI ?

Well, I can guarantee *no* fed judge is going to support the state in this. You could find some who would overturn the statute the feds were trying to enforce, but none that will let a state stop them from enforcing it.

Well, the state or feds would be the ones who would arrest a sheriff charged under a state or federal corruption law, so...


Plus, we already sorted all this out during the civil rights era. The feds *will* send in the national guard if necessary to force the state and locals to do things their way.

Plus, we already sorted all this out during the civil rights era. The feds *will* send in the national guard if necessary to force the state and locals to do things their way.

Governor's usually control the states National Guard depending on the state.
Feds should be investigating federal crimes across state lines .Other than that they need to fuck off.
Looking at States asserting their rights with drug legalization, the feds tend to stay out.

That's because drug legalization is favored by the left.

same goes for illegal immigration.

You can bet it would be a completely different for RKBA issues. They would be treated like the sheriff's/states that wanted to keep segregation.

You are right about the feds needing to keep to their lane, but if they did that, they would havr to eliminate 90% of the feds, and they aren't about to do that.

Except for areas around St. Louis and other big cities, I'd advise Fed.Gov not to fuck around in "Missurah".

I've been in some of the nether regions of Missouri and people there are not to be fucked with - the old ways still exist.

I can't and don't recall the exact details, but about 6-8 years ago MO senate passed a bill that if anyone even brought up an anti-gun bill it would be referred to as criminal. Can't remember if that person would then be arrested or not.

I think this is one of the most likely scenarios that cause some sort of secessionist movement or conflict between states and the federal government.

There are some states out there that are not going to be OK with an increasingly totalitarian socialist federal government and they will seek to preserve what they have and love as their way of life.

I genuinely believe some states out there are reaching the point of their "line in the sand" so I'm really curious to see how hard the xiden regime tries to push their mandates on conservative middle America.


It's not an entirely dissimilar comparison to say 1859-1860 slavery states vs the federal government and comparing a similar path in 2021 to pro gun right states. There are definitely some parallels to that time period and now.

Many in those states also viewed lincoln as an illegitimate President.

It will take some serious brass balls for a red state governor to use the state NG to actively defy the feds in confrontation.

I think to add to this scenario if the inept biden admiration allows it to go on for any amount of time it will spiral out of control fast. I think you will see refugees from oppressed states moving there in droves. Even if it doesn't result in war it will dramatically change the population dispersion of the country. I don't know if that will help or hurt our side. Interesting times indeed.

The Sheriff can say what he wants but it comes down to the individual deputies, do they have the stones to follow through? @GOPerfect made a similar point in another thread a day or two ago. Things like this are why the culture war is so important, kids indoctrinated throughout early education then even more in higher education to believe guns are bad and only the government should have them, grow up to be cops and carry this idea into enforcement.
