And that is why Suffolk PD issued a letter saying that the shockwave wasn't a shotgun and was therefore legal. By every letter of the law, this is legal. Because NY doesn't define a pistol(thereby falling back to federal defition), and the NY definition of "firearm" says it must be a...
I remember when I went to register a cap and ball pistol with the local pistol bureau. They looked at me like I had 3 heads and gently tried to talk me out of it. I knew the sad state of affairs and they did it. I had to call the online website that I got it from though twice, as the pistol...
Yeah, at least at the time of me writing this, there's no mention of an L5 in .50 on Magnum Research's website. Only the L6 model which comes in at 55oz.
I just picked up one in .44 Magnum the other day. I've also got the .357 magnum one. I've watched probably 100 reviews of Desert Eagles and the majority of them conclude that the .44 is the best one. The 50 is too much, especially when you're dropping the weight from the high 70 ounce range to...
Most of the people I know that registered are the ones going to competitions regularly. When cops are often the ones showing up to these things, you don't want to always be looking over your shoulder. I guess there's a lot of upstaters here, but re-registering every five years has been standard...
I've got the Coonan in 357 as well. Particularly for the hotter loads, the DE has WAY less felt recoil with all its muzzle porting and thicker grip. The magazine also holds 2 more rounds than the Coonan's 7 rounds.
Gotcha. The only upside is that if you already own these off list pistols outside of CA, you can sell to someone there or if you move there you can bring them as long as they're not AWs.
Quoting from that page about micro stamping now being a requirement for a “safe” gun:
Due to a law that became effective January 1, 2010, new models of semiautomatic pistols sold in California are required to have microstamping technology integrated into the pistol design, or the handgun will...
It’s because they require micro stamping now which no gun company is going to do. The list gets smaller every year because of this. There’s at least one big lawsuit going on for this currently.
I know 50AE sounds cool and all, but the 44 still gives crazy amount of bang while still being comfortable to shoot. 50AE crosses into novelty territory with the amount of recoil it generates.
