I've got the Coonan in 357 as well. Particularly for the hotter loads, the DE has WAY less felt recoil with all its muzzle porting and thicker grip. The magazine also holds 2 more rounds than the Coonan's 7 rounds.
I just picked up one in .44 Magnum the other day. I've also got the .357 magnum one. I've watched probably 100 reviews of Desert Eagles and the majority of them conclude that the .44 is the best one. The 50 is too much, especially when you're dropping the weight from the high 70 ounce range to 49.6 ounces.FFL out of Rochester area

I just didn't think IWI got the 50ae down to that weight just the 44 and 357. Also one reason I personally would get thr 50ae would be 44 barrel conversion
Yeah, at least at the time of me writing this, there's no mention of an L5 in .50 on Magnum Research's website. Only the L6 model which comes in at 55oz.
