Rensselaer County peeps -- some permit info please

I have a great-nephew moving back to NY from CO. He intends to settle in the county and wants to get his permit. Any information anyone can share on the ease / difficulty or any "how to's" unique to Rensselaer county that I can pass along would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Doctor asks; Are there guns in your home?

Had a colonoscopy yesterday and there were a few questions during the "prep", one of which was whether I had been depressed or had suicidal thoughts recently. "Well, having to leap out of bed at two o'clock this morning and rush to the bathroom for the 15th time in a day was somewhat...

    38 wadcutter costs

When I first started reloading a buddy and I went halves on a Rock Chucker and spent a couple evenings a week loading .357's. On Saturday afternoon we would go out to the sand pit and dare each other to be the first to try the latest batch. We gauged the quality of the loads by the amount of...

N.J. Hunter walking to car locks down town

Nadler Asks Chip Roy (R-TX). : 'What Do You Use Semi-Automatic Weapons For?'

He missed a great opportunity when Nadler asked Roy if he would use the semi-automatic weapon against American troops. "Why, sir, would I ever use it against American troops? What would American troops be doing to me?"

    Pole limit?

In the late '70's Bob Sinclair was a DEC officer with a couple decades of experience. He taught a class on ECON Law and told the class a story about patrolling Conesus Lake one time and coming upon a husband & wife in a boat. There were 4 lines in the water. He had a fishing license, she did...

Lewis County NY pistol permits will all be unrestricted now. Older permits may be brought in for restriction removal.

This is interesting. I got my permit in Lewis county in the '70's and I don't think such a thing as a restricted permit even existed then. Everyone running their own little fiefdoms.
