hand polished the flats of the slide and the trigger. Hand fit new solid medium length trigger, commander ring hammer, 20lpi checkered mainspring, hand polished sear and disconnector, then adjusted the sear spring for consistent clean sub 2.5lb break. Resprung with correct springs. Decided to keep the single sided safety as it fit the look I was going for.
Quite the mix there. Meat and seeds to get meat.Taking a day off is costly.

Shoot the squirrel with your cannon and make everyone happy. Your cannon is awesome manI bought a cannon.
Ok, it wasn't today, but today I did find out it is illegal to blank fire a cannon in NY. Fortunately, I am not in NY.
Coincidentally, I also found out the same is true in Florida, depending on the circumstances, but no one cares where I live. Yesterday, a squirrel took out the transformer in front of my house with a loud boom, and the neighbors were texting me, wondering if I shot off one of my cannons again.

This law must go back to colonial days. How f#@king backwards NYS is. We need a law saying carrying unchambered is illegal.I bought a cannon.

Did this change? We have a guy that does it on occasion and he just calls up the Sheriff’s office in case they get any calls County clerk was telling me it’s legal in nys if done in a safe manner. Don’t remember how that conversation started, but remember them saying it was legal.I bought a cannon.

Legal and caring about it are two different things. Also illegal can mean many different things in many different areas.Did this change? It’s not illegal to fire a black powder cannon in nys. Why would you think that?I bought a cannon.

I was told by someone in NY that he had the police at his home many times when neighbors complained about him firing his cannon on a Sunday afternoon. He said is was illegal to BLANK fire a cannon, which is why he loaded the barrel up with sawdust, and kept a log of when and how he fired it. Eventually the police gave up trying to charge him, and told anyone to complained from then on that he was doing it legally. Of course, there may be more or fewer restrictions based on local regs, amount of property, etc. but his assertion was that blank firing is illegal as it is in the same class as aerial fireworks which are illegal. It’s not illegal to fire a black powder cannon in nys. Now that open carry is legal in Florida, I'm toying with the idea of making a harness to hold my cannon barrel so I can walk around in public with it, just for the laughs. This law must go back to colonial days. How f#@king backwards NYS is. We need a law saying carrying unchambered is illegal.

Cops do not always know the law.I was told by someone in NY that he had the police at his home many times when neighbors complained about him firing his cannon on a Sunday afternoon.
