So, seems I was right. He got his rights back and now says screw the rest of the people he gave hope to. That's a RINO move right there! He's promised a lot to restore and protect our rights, but hasn't done a damn thing in reality that amounts to jack shit. Remove taxes for silencers? That's a drop in the ocean and not a big win for the average gun owner.
Trumps no friend to us, he's proven that in his last term by not keeping 2A statements, and even more so in this term. He's going to do nothing of value for gun owners. I wish I was wrong, but the proof is in the pudding, and this thread is part of that proof. What happened to this "special section" to address/investigate states like NY, MA, CT, NJ, and douches like Hochul who are taking our rights all the time? They haven't done squat either. More and more gun control is popping up, and in states that used to be free. It was supposed to be stopped, yet here we are.
NY is a prime example:
Having to look for a week to find documentation on if an MSR grip is legal in NY. Or drop $200 to make an MSR into a bolt gun. Or, my wife and I having to go in the near future and get semi-auto rifle permits because if one of us passes away the other has to surrender firearms without it. Not just us, a lot of people. If you own a 10/22, 7400/740, Browning BAR, or any other semi auto rifle, and you die, whoever you leave them too has to have that license to take possession of them. Little thing most don't realize right there, those people would be taking possession/ownership after the 9/22 deadline.
You would think with his hatred off all things NY politics with all they put him through, he would at least be hammering things home here.

Nope, that’s BS that the department of justice will handle this instead of letting the Supreme Court decided it. When those in the DOJ are gone so is their approval of allowing nonviolent felons to get guns back. What happens to the people that already had their gun rights back through the DOJ process? Will this be valid if the democrats are back in charge and would it hold up in NYS? The right thing to do is to have the Supreme Court decide it unless they knew they would rule against us.
Presumably, the DoJ and other Cabinet Secretaries operate at the Pleasure of the President and therefor follow his lead and edicts.

But why not rule and make it standard across the USA. This girl lost her gun rights for a bad check? If that was NY it would be tough to get your rights back. It’s also time consuming and costly.
I get this line of thinking but then we are forced to keep every violent person in jail. I’m not sure this is best, but I get the argument that if we are worried about them they should not be released. We will never get there in any state or county in the USA. They will routinely release unsafe people. We also know many felonies are plead down.
