If you mean I70, you will get a lot of snow between Denver and Eagle. other than that its not to bad. Don't go that way if you have a hazmat load. They will route you over Strawberry pass. This time of year it's no damn fun. The rest area's are also closed this time of year in the mountains. The little ones East of Glenwood springs are really small.

Yeah, I'm taking I 15 north outta of San Bernardino CA through Vegas up to I 70 over to Denver area. Sounds Like it won't be fun. I've never had to throw chains before.

It's mandatory that you have them, but not to use them. Last time i went over that pass in a snowstorm i went barefoot and just drove slow.
