They can only use the federal definition if nys doesn't define the term. Given that nys has a definition of firearm in the penal code, they can not use the federal definition to charge you with a nys law violation.

You need to include the definition of those items if you want to correctly understand the law. From pl265.00.12
If there is no stock, it wasn't designed or intended to be fired from the shoulder, so it does not meet the definition of a shotgun per nys law.
So unless you are claiming it is a...
This is what I want to see done. To hell with threats about taking away money. Charge every single politician that supports sancuary policies as accessories to the crimes these foreign invaders commit. Round up the mayor and the city council perp walk them, maybe then we will see some real...
Just wondering if you have a link to where they did this? I took a look and didn't find it, everything I saw still indicated that changing the use was "redesigning" it.

A friend had a fixed 10x on one of his .308 rifles. Seemed like a solid piece of glass for the money. Good clarity, and the mechanics all seemed well built.

I'm not much of a revolver guy but I believe some of the ruger revolvers come from the factory setup to accept a scope. Just something to look at.

I really don't think a unified Korea is good for anyone other then the north Koreans at this point. Finding a way to officially end the war, while maintaining two Korea's would work out best for everyone. That's assuming the north Korean government is replaced with something more stable.

10/22 is a fine first rifle, but claiming it is perfect, and then turning around and saying you must add upgrades that cost as much as the gun seems a little off.

Savage mark 2 is always a good choice in my opinion. They have a bunch of different models, but I don't think you will go wrong with any of them. I have an old Lakefield arms mark 2 from before savage bought them. I like it so much I bought a new savage to go with it

I believe nys allows the possession of silencers if you pay the S.O.T., given that possesion is currently legal based on paying a specific tax, wouldn't the preemption clause be in play?

with given that they are a national retailer I imagine most of the guns and the good stuff will just be moved to other stores. Seems a lot simpler then lossing more money on merchandise when they are already hurting for cash
I stick with steel cans. I have a bunch of .30's and .50's, but lately have been on the look out for deals on 40mm cans and stocking up on those. I go have some mtm ammo boxes,(100 and 50 count), and they hold up well, and seem to be quality.
They banned them years ago, they don't have to do anything. Pl 265 already bans suppressors under state law. Even if this passes, which I hope it does, we are still fucked, as usual.

Yeah, I'm surprised the gold dots and hydra shocks seemed to have some of the smallest improvements. I wonder if HSTs are any better. Corbon is good ammo, but not usually what I think of as a duty catridge, but maybe they have more of the market then I think.

Yup. I have heard 5.56 through a soft vest can be worse then a straight hit because the vest can cause the bullet to yaw and tumble sooner.

I wasn't saying they shouldnt have rifles, The article brought up the need to penetrate armor as a justification to equip bpd with rifles. I'm saying if the author is going to use armor penetration as a justification the author needs to provide an up to date and continuing need not a single...
I'm not saying it doesn't happen, and I know exactly how easy it is to aquire armor, but if that is going to be a justification for needing a rifle, chambered in a rifle round, recent examples should be provided, and if available stats showing it as a continuing if infrequent problem. A single...
I don't see any reason bpd couldn't have ar's, but sighting the increase in criminals wearing body armor, by siting a single decades old case is laughable. They better come up with something other then the Miami bank robbers of they want that arguement to be taken seriously.

I'll see if I can dig up the card of the last place I bought them from. It was a couple of years ago, but as far as I know they where authentic, they certainly seemed like the same thing I ate when I was in the usaf.

Nothing wrong with buying an ar. The guy making a great arguement to do your research and buy the ar you actually want, rather then the first one you see.
There aren't a whole heck of a lot of rifle configurations that can't be bought predone from the factory.

Preet did some good in NY, but when you serve at the pleasure of the POTUS and the POTUS asks for your resignation, don't play stupid games. Just a waste of everyone's time. Getting Silver and Skelos out was good work, but after all the hype of continuing indictments, he seemed to fall flat...
It really just goes to show how peaceful and law abiding most gun owners are. The guy had a automatic grenade launcher and multiple machine guns, and he turned them over when the cops demanded. With a mk19 he could have put up a hell of a final stand

had he told someone to get him a cap and the aviator jacket to wear, maybe I can see being a little pissed off. Given that he was given the jacket/cap by the crew I don't see what they are getting their panties in a bunch over. Would have been pretty shitty not to wear it. I take issue with...
No way is an ipad and a change machine going to cut it. A standard pos setup is going to run you about 2k. This only includes a standard cash drawer, nothing automated to handle automatically accepting bills and change and dispensing the appropriate change. I can't find a price for and...
I actually don't need a self serve kiosk, but I hear Wendy's is going to be installing a bunch. If you think you can do it for less, put it together and pitch it to them. Here's a bet though, you aren't going to, and couldn't even if you tried.
You are making assumptions of what the kiosks...
15k certainly won't get you 3 top of the line enterprise servers. Either you have pretty low expectations for "top of the line" or you don't buy much enterprise hardware.

That would be a delay, not a deny. Delay means wait a little bit, the instant check couldn't green light the transfer. Sometimes it's 5 minutes to get the update, sometimes it's never updated, and after 3 business days the ffl may, if the choose, proceed with the transfer anyway. A deny requires...
I'll assume thus is true as I don't know, but it is just one more thing that makes the story sound sketchy. How do you shed hunt at night with out a big ass flashlight, just wonder around and hope you trip on them.
If the hunter saw the reflection off somethings eyes, and shot, it sounds like...
so things don't go well when you let the crazies run things, good to know. lots of people vote democrat because they always have, its the party of blacks(barf), its the party of minorities(barf), its the party that supports women(barf), but as the far left loons take more and more control of...
Its not so much the credit score as what usually goes along with a bad credit score. Lots of people with a bad credit score do so because they are strapped for cash, missing payments, and have acquired lots of debt that can be a burden. These things add up to someone that is more susceptible...
I love this. The media as a whole needs to relearn how to be journalists, and report on facts, and stopped acting as another branch of the DNC. I don't really mind a little bit of a slant or bias in reporting, its simply unavoidable, reporters are people to. What is disgusting is the fact...
Are you thinking of the eotech issues? I haven't heard of there being any problems with aimpoint. Infact it seems like since eotech screwed up, and is being sued for fraud, aimpoint seems to be the default go to for a lot of people
I thought the same thing, looks like they do painting, as much as it would be nice to support them, I can't afford to have pros come from Tennessee to do any painting for me.
No, I can attest it isn't the case. I worked for a big box dealer, and the atf doesn't just come in and say let's see all your 4473's. They come in and ask for either a specific persons records, or the records for a specific gun, they don't just sit down and start to wholesale copy down 4473...
That's just funny. I'm assuming you have never seen the stored 4473's for a large ffl because most havent. An ffl is required to store 4473's for 20 years, or until they close. For a big box stores moving hundreds or thousands of guns a week, this adds up to storage rooms full of records. I...
I'd go further and add it only applies if your registered "assault weapon" is the only weapon you own in that caliber, and you know no else with any guns, and you have made a sworn statement in front of a notary that you will never buy another gun. Complete and utter unenforceable bullshit, from...
I did my ammendment before I picked up the lower. While technically you are correct a stripped lower is not a pistol, if you don't do the ammendment during the transfer process how else would you add the lower to your permit?
Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I dislike the thordsen stock, but that's personal preference. Going with a not a pistol ar pistol would let you have all of the other features that are included in this mess.
If you build a safe act compliant pistol that is true, but if you go the way of the 26"+ oal not a pistol route, I don't...
I would agree, I guess I just haven't had the stones to do it yet. Let me ask you this, assuming the gun in question had a mag lock installed so that ny safe isn't part of the equation would you be comfortable building something like this and taking it to a public range without having it on your...
Yeah, for me it came down to a question of would nys still classify it as a pistol. I know the federal government does not, but hadn't read into the supremacy clause saying for certain that ny would be bound by the federal definition of a pistol since they fail to define it in the penal code...
That is what originally got me thinking about the whole concept. I'm just still not sure what ny would say about it.
