Yes.
We target dogs that are showing no fear of humans and/or are terrorizing and killing livestock or pets.
This was the female of the Alpha pair that we've been trying to take out prowling around a horse farm.
We finally caught up to them.
Same spot we dropped a big male last year.
Deja vu all...
Dropped a dog this morning.
By the time this dog showed up I'd been up for 22 hours, sat in 3 hours of traffic and was fading.
I woke right up when the dogs started to answer back.
SJC
I'll save a dog if the pelt is nice and a farmer is interested in keeping it.
Usually in the colder months or if it's a dog taken on their land.
Mostly the pelts are worth nothing as the cartridges I use aren't fur friendly.
I'm more concerned with eliminating them.
SJC
Didn't use the call to get this one in range.
It just appeared on the trail.
We saw some evidence of dogs trying to get into a deer pen and figured it was a good place to sit.
SJC
Dropped several dogs and had some real nice footage to show, but the X50 scope crapped the bed again and I fear the footage has been lost.
I dropped this female at 20 paces Sunday Pm.
Just have to settle for a pic.
Here's my 2024 Fall season Impulse Predator rigs.
Front Primary Predator is sporting a fresh 18" Preferred CF barrel with Titanium linear comp chambered in 20-250, Factory stock and Halo X50 scope.
Rear backup Predator is the 20" X-Caliber CF .243 death machine, Boyd's At one Thumbhole stock and...
Pro line pellets seem to be a good fit with the Barra.
These little guy's were trying to get something to eat before the storm arrived, little did they know that they didn't need to worry.
SJC
Had some issues with corrupted video files on the RIX L3 thermal, but got it straightened out and was able to recover the recording of this Mus's demise.
Also switched over to RWS 8.2 pro line pellets.
SJC
Barra 1100Z .177 PCP Rifle.
Barra
The Adder TS35-384 is a good scope, but the L3 is a great scope.
Better controls, 18650 battery, Sensor, Display, Menu, Price and has Ocular zoom.
Got the L3 late in the season and didn't really get to test it, but after using it the last couple of months...
The newest addition to my OTF knife collection for use while out of doors is from TAKCOM.
Got the Nighthawk V2 DE, as I prefer my Auto knives with the switch on the face of the handle for Ambi use and don't like having a glass breaker stud on the end of the handle.
I've paid a lot more for...
Pup's are getting near the weaning age right now and are getting vocal.
Even if we were allowed to hunt them at this time in NY, It's too hot out for me and I'd be down a quart of blood with all of the freaking mosquitos.
I had one reach out to me two weeks ago after something killed half his chickens.
He said it was a fox.
We set out cameras and nothing has showed up since.
Proof that my scent alone will keep predators away.:p
The season will be here before you know it, so tread lightly my friend.
Sometimes you'll find a deal on an American made shotgun, but you need to look at them carefully as most times those will need to be rebuilt.
I like to shoulder a clays shotgun before purchasing, unless it has an adjustable stock for me to be able to make it fit.
Your going to have to pay for...
Patience is a virtue.
Mounted the L3 on a Barra 1100z .177 PCP rifle with a Buck Rail moderator.
A much needed improvement and on a whole other level than the Fusion 2.
Mus don't like it.

Being I had the opportunity to hunt all night, I made the most of it by dropping two mice.
The neighbors down the street were having a party, so it made perfect cover for my nighttime escapades.
SJC
These mice weren't invited to the party.
Was having some accuracy issues, so I switched to a heavier pellet and it seems to be working.
It takes a lot of patience waiting for a clear shot when hunting mice, but sometimes you need to throw caution to the wind and let it rip.
This was a beautiful night for using thermal and it looked...
Coyote are big animals compared to a mouse and the trigger on the Fusion is a lot different than the Impulse predator, so I was a little shaky lining up the shot during the first hunt, but it didn't take me long to get back in the saddle.
Sometimes you need to take an insurance shot.
This Vole...
What to do ?
Mount that thermal scope on a PCP .177 air rifle and hunt mice !
It's good practice during the off season and your killing tick carrying mice, Win Win.
This is a video of my first mouse kill with the backup RIX L3 Thermal / Fusion II air rifle.

I had a pretty good season, so it's only fitting that the last weekend was wrought with F up's.
First with the crappy windy weather blowing Friday Pm out the door.
Then me missing a broadside chip shot at 50 yards and having a feeding issue Sat PM.
Then having my buddy drop a dog only for it...
We visited a bait pile that had a lone dog coming into it.
It paid it's last visit Tuesday PM.
The first female dog taken on this property since Dec 2023.
It was an old injury that was covered with hair.
Never saw this dog before.
I'm guessing it was a straggler that normally wouldn't have been going into another males territory, but wasn't afraid since we killed most of it's competition.
That's the 10th male coyote taken on this property since...
I had better luck taking down a three legged male dog.
Saw this one going down a fence line in an adjoining field as we were getting to our first stand location.
When the wind started to shift, he took his last breath.
