Springfield and Rock River, Still Evil?

I have no gun in this fight but what I will say is; if the XD is what you’re comfortable with, and you shoot it well.. rock on. What other people like/use is up to them. I consider myself to be a bit of a snob when it comes to my equipment, however I would never talk down on anyone else’s...

Joined a 250yd shoot at my club

Looks like fun! I’m out in Rochester, and wish I could find a range where I could shoot past 100 yards. Do you mind giving me a run down of your rifle specs?

    300 blackout for deer?

Rock on man. Both are fantastic choices, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I can’t wait to see you update this thread in November with your results. I’ll make sure to keep using my 5.56 on deer just so I can watch people’s head explode on the nygunforum!

    Batavia Gun Show

I will be there tomorrow around 9am.. I honestly believe most gun shows provide a bunch of over priced garbage, however my grandfather enjoys them so I go. You planning on going?

    Opinions on the .17 HMR

What are you looking to achieve with it? Range gun, hunting, both? 17hmr is great for small game up to fox. I have a CZ452 and it has been extremely accurate. I don’t own a 17wsm, however I’ve read quite a bit about accuracy issues. Plus you’re pretty much limited to Savage or Ruger... CZ452

Remington 700 SA chassis system, need some input

Tony, some can be total boat anchors for sure. The KRG X-ray chassis I have on order weighs in at 3.1 lbs. These systems definitely shine when shooting in the prone. I have 2 Remington 700s in 308. One is in a bell and Carlson stock, inletted with a DBM, the other in the Mcree chassis. I will...

Remington 700 SA chassis system, need some input

Pro’s of a chassis: Magazine fed Adjustable length of pull Cheek riser Ease of mounting accessories Ultimately with a chassis you have the ability to make the rifle fit you, vs you trying to fit to the rifle. Manners and McMillan make some amazing stocks, however they cost just as much as a...

    300 blackout for deer?

I’ve been toying around with the idea of picking up a 300 BO upper for this coming season as well... however my 11.5 BCM in 5.56 has been doing the job just fine. I’m running the Barnes 70 gr tsx, and highly recommend them.

NYGF Long Gun Pictures Gallery: Show off your Rifles and Shotguns !

I reload using 175 gr SMK's with good results. A while ago I tried messing around with some 155 Lapua Scenar's however cant justify the cost, so went back to the SMK. Picture Thread!
