Awesomesauce.
Looks like a great 640 Res scope with a lot of features and the ability to have LRF when needed.
I also wondered why Bering went with AA instead of 18650 batteries in the new Yoter scope.
The LRF eats batteries and I don't think their AA battery life claims are accurate.
You jumped...
This one got away.
I was waiting for another shooter to engage, but didn't know he couldn't see it clearly with the IR illuminator of his DNV scope reflecting off of the corn stubble.
This dog was pacing back and forth in front of the cow herd for 20 minutes.
I couldn't shoot until I moved into...
Dropped this one Sat Am while introducing some hunters into the world of hunting coyote at night with thermal optics.
They've been using red lights and DNV for a couple of years with little success.
Their on the right track now.
This dog and a few others came in on a string using new female...
I hit it, but back a bit.
Athough the grass was pretty high, it wasn't that high to where it could disappear without a trace.
There were deer in the woods in the background and they didn't move afterwards either.
I figured they would be moving if a coyote was running around them.
Bottom right...
Took a poke through the branches at a dog that had winded me and wanted to head out of town, but the field was flooded and it was slowed down trying to get through it without getting soaked.
It ran a little ways and disappeared after the shot, so I glassed the flooded field for fifteen minutes...
Just after the stroke of midnight, I got up from my seat to stretch and try to get my back spasms to stop when my buddy whispered to me that he see's two dogs coming in.
My back spasms magically disappear when I see them coming with my spotter.
I get behind the rifle and hit record.
The wind was...
The Impulse bolt thread is 5/16-24 by 1/2" long, so there's plenty of bolt knobs in any style available to choose from.
I would lightly lube the bolt, especially in the bolt release groove and cycle the action to make it smoother.
Mine is like glass.
It has over 500 rounds fired now, but it...
Unfired until memorial day !!!
That's a shame, as the rifle needs a little use to get broken in and five months is a long ways away.
How do you like the straight pull action ?

I did a review on a different site about the cheaper Poly Pmags not feeding and that only metal or the new style poly metal magazines will work in the predator rifle.
Poly Metal mag
I prefer the shorter 5 round magazines because their quieter than the 10 rounder's, fit tighter in the magwell and...
Been awhile, but it's time for an overdue year+ review on my Savage Impulse Predator rifle.
In the almost two years that I've had it, my only real gripe was that it's barrel heavy with the factory barrel, so after having the factory barrel spiral fluted and not being happy with the weight...
JZ, Hope you two went out and dropped some dogs tonight.
Tisto, the dogs need to eat, so hopefully you'll get a break in the weather and chores to do some hunting.
I tweaked some muscles in my back Friday PM, but didn't really notice it because we were having such a good night.
I didn't get to...
The farmers have been calling about disappearing livestock, so my buddy and I decided to pay a visit before the new year to see what we could do to help.
Good way to end the year.
Bad news was that my Halo scope wouldn't start, but that's why I have a backup rig ready to go.
Also tried some new...
That really sucks to read and I hope your injuries heal quickly.
I went up Sat afternoon after changing the brakes and stopping at my machinists shop to pick up the savage parts.
Nice weather in my local, but as I drove north it just got worse and more worse.
I ended up cruising the roads...
When I hunt, who knows what going to pop up and the 200 Grn FTX 35 Gunner load is super accurate, so it's what I use.
Any of the OP's caliber choices are good for deer, but I would make my decision on Ammo or reloading component availability.
Long day yesterday, so I actually went to bed early and got more than 4 hours of sleep.
Got a call from the butcher and after I change the brakes on my Varmint van, I'll be heading upstate to pick up two sets of the professionally finished savage impulse QC barrel parts, the meat and then do...
200 gr FTX.
Shot both at 20 yards or less, so I guess the bullet didn't have time to expand and blow them in half.
Haven't shot anything but coyote with my Semi and Bolt gunner's.
Never had to take a second shot.
I've been using the N frame hammer kit in my 929 for a year now shooting steel challenge without issue.
I've been tuning S&W revolvers for decades and this is the best drop in DAO kit I've used to date.
They now have kits available for other style S&W revolvers too.

Spotted 5 bucks with the thermal fighting and chasing a hot doe before the sun rose Sat Am.
Had a perfect broadside shot at an 8 pointer 350 yards away as the sun was rising.
Was almost ready to pull the trigger when a small basket 6 bumped the doe and both bucks followed the doe into heavy...
Shot a decent 8 pointer Sat Am, so I was free to hunt coyote Sat Pm.
Set up in a field on a hilltop with a great view.
Weather was perfect for thermal usage and I was lucky to see a couple of shooting stars with the NV goggles as well.
First set we called in this female from over 500 yards away...
You need to stop hunting with those pipsqueak calibers in areas you don't need to hunt with them.
Wipe the dust off that 6.8 upper and show them who's boss !
I also made the mistake of thinking a dog was down after hitting it two times with the 20 practical and not making sure it was anchored...
I always recommend mid tier Leupold scopes as a first, second or third choice.
I used Vortex scopes on my PRS rifles and had turret issues with them, but I've never tried their hunting line of scopes because I've never had an issue with my Leupold scopes.
Leupold does have a great warranty, but...
I don't hunt in boxes for that reason, especially boxes with heat, wifi and a toilet, as I would also be letting coyote walk by and pee on it like you do !;)
I've had no issues with my fuzion in any weather condition, and the fact that it's working good even with a gouged lens gives it a big...
Subconsciously you let it go because 40-50 yards is to close of a shot for you.
Do you think a coyote is going to just hang out till you get your rifle ready to shoot it ?
#1- Set rifle up
#2- Set call up
#3- Shoot coyote when it comes in
I have an issue with my Fuzion spotter.
Sharp rocks and...
I work all over the city and had hope for Zeldin, as a lot of people in the city said they were voting for Zeldin because of the crime issues they were experiencing and their paychecks not feeding their families.
I guess there wasn't enough of those city people to overcome the city people that...
Got this male right before I was packing up to head back after a long long day.
Was in the city at 5 Am and ended the day up at my land under the stars at 1 Am.
Got this dog just after midnight and even though I was up for 20+ hours, I was instantly awake when I spotted it moving through the...
Backup rig still got the job done, but I needed more ammo.
Only one recovered, but three more were hit with good blood trails into the swamp.
The bugs need to eat too.

While you guys were crying in the rain Saturday, I dropped one at the furthest yardage I can remember shooting one, 279 yards.
Unfortunately my scope shut off after the shot and I couldn't get a shot at the male that was with this female.
In my haste to get setup, I forgot to fully tighten the...
Hunted a new property last night that was having a chicken disappearing problem.
Had a few that were a ways off that didn't come in, but this one came in on a string and was dropped on the run by my buddy.
33lb female.
Saw 5 fox, so when fox season opens, their on the hit list.
Here's the video of it getting downwind of me in the woods.
I was waiting for it to walk past the big tree, but it never did.
It's amazing how they can just disappear.
#1 + #2 for the Halo/Savage Impulse Predator .243
#1 was a female that I caught going into the field that the neighbors keep their horses.
#2 was a male that was circling around a cluster of deer that were bedded down in a hay field around 300 yards from my set.
I actually called it in an hour...
Here's my fall 2022 Primary and backup rifles.
Got the Adder in yesterday and mounted on the 20 practical.
Stopping by the range on my way upstate to sight it in.
Welcome to NY state.gov, where even the sentences are trying to run away.
To clarify, You cannot hunt with a centerfire rifle in a caliber larger than .21 caliber in counties that only allow deer hunting with Bow and Shotgun.
This is from the NYSDEC;
You may hunt furbearers with a rifle chambered in any cartridge, except that during any open season for deer (including archery, muzzleloading, and regular seasons) you may not possess a rifle larger than .22 caliber rimfire afield, during the day or night, to hunt...
My Primary rig is ready to go and I should have my backup rig set to go next week after the new backup thermal arrives.
I've also been getting calls from the neighbors upstate that the coyote are getting brazen with their livestock and sounding off right outside their houses after dark.
Their...
You need two, so there's enough parts to make one useable rifle !:wtf:
Can't wait to hunt with you guys, check those pimped out 204 rifles up close + personal.
With that new fangled AR, there might not be any coyote left to hunt in December !
Use whatever your rifle shoots the best, but I don't go out with anything under 35 grains in my 20 practical.
While speed does kill, a light jacketed projo made for vermin will blow up on impact, especially when hitting bone.
The heavier projos are made with thicker jackets for better...
I've been told there are wolves in NY state also and have had locals say they've seen them, but none of my friends or acquaintances that hunt, trap and have cameras out night and day have never seen or heard one.
Maybe in the vast reaches of the Adirondacks, but I would think that if they were...
