And to reciprocate on the offering, I will add to the thread a number of bumper stickers and window stickers that someone else can likely put to better use.
You still have to cook raw foods. Freeze drying doesn’t kill the bacteria, just puts them into some sort of Han Solo type stasis. So when you rehydrate it, they will still be there and ready to do their thing.
something like freeze drying raw eggs gives you more flexibility than cooking...
Just pulled out the raw, breaded tenders and put one aside to rehydrate and see how it does. As expected, out of the FD they are bone dry and devoid of moisture content.
For packaging they go into 7 mil mylar bags and they sealed up with the impulse sealer that comes with the price of the...
@OwnTheRide you are correct. bit of a method to our madness up front. For the first few runs, we want to remove us as the issue. Doing the precooked/prepared helps. i will be curious to see what the total cost is when we do bulk raw product as there are several steps we would want to take...
I’m a simple person when it comes to the kit I carry on me. It’s designed for stopping bleeding. The boo boo kit is in the car and at home. It’s a shear, TQ, compressed gauze, chest seal x2, nitriles and I threw in an emergency blanket for shock. Only thing not pictured is the mini sharpie...
@repete if you have any questions, I’d be happy to try and answer them. If you are on Facebook there are two groups you may want to join first and read through to see others experiences. The majority of them are very favorable. they are:

Hello fellow firearms enthusiast and welcome to our forum where we have discussions on topics such as cooking, snow removal and our wood working hobbies. You may be better suited at an AR specific forum where they would have many more enthusiasts who might have experience with that sort of upper.
I believe that is the largest danger, the 300 will chamber in a 556 without an issue. Article Here and here too
main reason for me that I didnt want to get into 300BO. I’m enough of an idiot normally and didn’t need to add to my odds of something going poorly.
More so 300 danger noodle stuck in 556 barrel. Then no place for 556 energy to go. Lovely illustration below of 300bo shot in 556 barrel. One helluva obstruction.
The ice cream sandwiches and yogurt are done. This batch won't make it into storage either. They will be snacks for the next few days. This is 2 ice cream sandwiches and a quart of yogurt. Both are really tasty, but I prefer the tang and creamy texture of the yogurt.
Uncooked chicken...
@Criticalt we use a dehydrator as well. We do like the Excalibur and have gotten lots of use out of it. There will still be things we use it for, like sliced tomatoes as those don't do well in the FD. Making tomato powder is a different story. Definitely FD is the way to go there.
Back to the economics for a minute. The chicken was picked up from Sam's club since we were there and was 12.98 per 4lb bag and we got two. We ended up packaging it into 6 mylar bags and used six oxygen absorbers. Including electric cost, total cost for this batch was $34.96. The final...
That pretty well lines up with most gun shops. If you can find a mom and pop they may work with you more on a trade value for something that has been on the shelf longer as they have much more skin in the game vs a regular salesman type collecting their hourly wage.
And the chicken is out. While you could eat it straight as is, it really sucks the moisture out of your mouth. The color in the middle of the nugget is from the bread coating. These things are dried out. The sample one rehydrated surprisingly well, put it in the air fryer for a few minutes...
I will respectfully have to disagree on the size. I can easily pocket carry the LCR, not the G19.
As for the recoil, I haven't shot the 9mm LCR and I don't carry full house 357 loads for carry. I understand that the recoil maybe a bit much for some folks hands, but it should depend on what you...
Did a gallon of pickles since the wife liked them so much. Turned into 1/2 gallon plus 1 qt Mason jar.
Just put in 8 lbs of cooked chicken. We shall see how long this takes and then how it does afterwards.
Ill throw out a couple of thoughts. The collapsible stock on the HK91 is probably one of the most uncomfortable cheek welds I have ever experienced. Having shot the FAL, a G3 and a M14 using a giggle switch, I found the FAL as the most controllable. To be fair, I had minimal time with M1A or...
Wanting to start a gun thread here, go figure.
My position (as you can guess, slightly biased) is that the FNFAL and its variants are the greatest battle rifle of all times. The definition that I am using for a battle rifle is an autoloading military service rifle chambered to fire a fully...
@repete mredepot is a good source of some interesting and different meat products. Look under their military surplus section. We have tried quite a few of their products and they reconstituted well with a couple of exceptions. We had a hard time with reconstituting the English muffins...
Yesterday afternoon I added some additional time to the pickles to make my life more convenient. Pulled them just now. Big hit with the wife. Pretty tasty. Can wait to try them on a sandwich for a really different textural component and a salty pop. I was informed that I will be procuring a...
i had a GG2. It scared me. It made black guns. Scary. I got rid of it. I feel safer. Although I swear sometimes late at night, if you listen closely, you can hear the ghost of aluminum chips past wandering in the halls.
all you would need is the correct jig and the cut codes. Something tells me those are already out there...
and @Robin its all good, the Ghost gunner’s don’t age discriminate. At least mine didn’t.
And today's experiment just went in. Dill pickle chips. These will not make it into long term storage. Hopefully if they work out, they will be a healthier snack and potato chip alternate.
