They functioned very well in my 14.5" carbides and M4. They have dual extractor Springs. I think they were designed for the 14.5 and for over gassed carbines. They do clean up nice.
Pull is at 4poubds I could digitally check mine. They advertise 4 pounds. No I didn't find the enhanced bolt doing any better than all the other bolts I have used. It's didn't do worse
They all functioned well for me. Ymmv
I also have a lot of time behind different triggers...Mostly Geissele, ELF, American Gold, Timney, Wilson Combat, Echo, BFS3 and of course milspec
So what type of trigger are you looking for?
I also have a Colt Mk12 Mod0 SPR....heavy...but runs well and accurate. Not anymore accurate than my Larue or Afghan
This is what mine is
United States Navy Mark 12 Special Purpose Rifle (Mk 12 SPR) Sniper Rifle / Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR)
I have a LMT enhanced bolt...not overly impressed. I ran a M16A2 with a M4 LMT upper custom made for me by LMT. It ran just fine with both standard and enhanced. My LWRC's are piston's. My PWS Mk 114 has been flawless but not the most accurate.
LaRue accuracy is known world-wide. The accuracy of each LaRue Upper is proven at our 100-yard tunnel using match-grade ammunition. No LaRue Upper can leave the facility unless it obtains accuracy of less-than 1 MOA (1.047”) at 100 Yards. Each ships with a copy of a 3-round group obtained from...
Why not a LaRue Stealth 14.5" upper with pinned muzzle device. It will serve both purposes. Super accurate, door kicker that will be as accurate or more than a spr. Otherwise the LaRue 18" stealth upper for spr. I have both the Noveske 14.5" Afghan and the 14.5" LaRue and they shoot as well or...
Hey Freddy I am in Albany area as well. I will let you know how the permitting process goes on my AR15. According to the local shops the shockwave is legal
My other FFL has no issue selling me a lower with the FC hook installed as a pistol. Just want to make sure it is legal that way. And if not what is everyone else using to fix their mag?
So I want to do a fixed mag lower. How do you put a fixed mag lower on your permit? I know they FFL has to transfer it as a pistol. How do you get a fixed mag lower that is compliant?
I was looking at the FC Hook. The FC hook looked great
I just got back from a LGS that said the ATF and state...
Looking for any place that might be able to mail order Winchester PDX1 in .223??
I checked targetsportsusa and outdoorlimited but no luck
Thanks in advance!
Corbon DPX 185+P penetrated 13-141/2" very consistently
The golden saber 185+P penetrated 16-171/2" The down side to the golden saber is it is a much hotter round in the small .45 Shield compared to the DPX and recoil was much stouter
Ballistic gel testing is not the tell all BUT I have done 9mm, .40, .357SIG and .45
The .357SIG clearly had more kinetic energy. Basically it rocked the block! I carry Corbon DPX as they penetrated to 17"-171/2"every time and fully expanded. Underwoods 125gr gold dot loading penetrated to 19...
I agree 100%. .357sig is a much better choice. Also 9mm federal HST 124 standard pressure has penetrated to 18" and expanded to .620-.636 25 out of 25 times through all sorts of media.
.45 out of a 5" barrel performs better but limited magazine capacity. I carried a Glock 32 for years prior to...
I have done extensive ballistic gel testing with the .45 Shield.
Here goes and it's a long read....the end is the most important findings so feel free to skip to the end
With Shield .45
I did a clearballistics FBI BARE gel test today. 6"x6"x16" with wood backstop
It was 17 degrees F, 61%...
My wife merely took the course here in Rensselaer County at the local range. She requested her restrictions be removed as she satisfactorily completed the course. Restrictions were removed. We submitted the certification with the request. No other information
In Rensselaer county you have to register each caliber that the specific gun can shoot.
My G26 is registered in 9mm and .357 sig as I have a conversion to shoot .357 sig out of it
So one gun with different calibers.
Your county might be different
I will say we were getting a couple of pistols added to her permit that we coregister. We did that over the Holiday and it took 5 weeks or so when it normally takes a few days
I am in Rensselaer as well. MY wife took the course to get her restrictions remove about 2-3 months after she got her permit. I think it took about 3 weeks. You will get a letter sent to your mailing address with it either granted or denied.
There are some excellent points made about gun belts, training, holsters etc.
Now to discuss the Shield with you. I also have the PC shield. It is an excellent carry pistol with a couple of potential issues. The original mag springs especially in their 8 rounders are junk and have been major...
Sort of. What they do is the flutes prevent them from over penetrating. Kind of like hydraulic brakes. The wound channels were only impressive on the .380. However I don't think it can be quantified in ballistic gel.
Actually not true at all. FMJ blows through the blocks in every caliber. Goes right past 22" and into my 4X6 block of wood. You get extreme over penetration with FMJ!
I have done ballistic gel testing with this ammo.
9mm, .45 and .357 SIG for the Xtreme defense and .380 Xtreme penetrator
In 9mm it was 90gr+P Underwood Xtreme defense penetrated 17-17 !/2" through bare gel, 4 layers of Denim and Winter wear
.45 ACP Xtreme Defense 120gr penetrated to 17-17...
I carry Federal HST 124gr in all my 9mm's. I would also not hesitate to carry Corbon DPX 115+P as well
In .40 I carry Federal HST 165gr
In .357 Sig I carry Corbon DPX 125 gr
In my Shield .45 I will most likely settle on Corbon DPX 185+P or Golden Saber 185+P
Glock 43 9mm

It is an EXCELLENT benchrest scope. I was talking with Bob Barnhart about his and he loves it. He has shot many scores of 2500. I bought his last rifle that he scored a 2500 with. I am also looking at that scope. I have 45x Leupold now I have 5-.22cal rounds in to this with his rifle and 45X at...
It's not a picatinny rail, which does allow much more variety of scopes (rings) and red dots. Of course factory rails are perfectly fine for a non modded 10/22. Mine are highly customized. Very highly
I am very close to you. I have built quite a few 10/22's.
For ease and consistency
get a Kidd barrel of your liking, Kidd bolt, Kidd 2 stage trigger group, Kidd guide rod assembly with charging handle. The long magazine under the trigger release is great too. You will have a 50 yard .375 MOA...
