That's one of my issues with antler restrictions. There is no way to get those inferior genetics out of the gene pool. If a small racked, but mature, buck walks by, he won't be legal to shoot. He will keep breeding does since there are too many does to go around. We know there are too many does...
This is the reason why I only load a single round at a time into my 44 mag for people that have never shot it, even if they're comfortable shooting something like a 9mm. I've seen people let it snap back before. Once they've shot a few rounds and they know what to expect, they can load it right up.
It's a good thing I process my deer on private land and never travel with them ;)
Some people don't really think this through. If everyone targets the older bucks, their population will go way down. If someone shoots a small 4 or 5 point, they have to let that other large buck go. With this...
I just don't know how much I will actually be buying. I've wanted a mosin and some others for a while now. I can't see myself buying more than a gun or two every few years. I'm just not sure if it is actually worth it for me.
If we lived in a free state and I could get pistols, it would...
I'm thinking about getting my C&R license. Talk me into it (or out of it). From my understanding....
I can buy eligible long guns from out of state and have them shipped directly to me.
All in state long gun purchases have to go through a FFL01 to get the NICS check done
All pistols have to go...
Just be aware that there are places you can't burn wood, like in the Eastern High Peaks area (where most of the 46 high peaks are located).
When hiking in the Adirondacks and camping where I will be eating freeze dried food, I use a JetBoil. It boils water crazy fast. It's relatively compact...
Wouldn't not interfering with businesses be considered small government? Letting businesses do their own thing, even if it's not necessarily in customers best interest, is part of small government.
An extra lighter (you should have one in your glovebox anyways), a few granola bars, a mylar blanket or two, lifestraw or other water purification method, an extra pocket knife, some cordage, a compass, and a small radio.
Our power didn't even flicker in Irondequoit. Lots of people around me are without power though. I'm going out tonight to help some people in the community clean up their yards. I could use some firewood :D
Yeah, they've got me on antibiotics. I can do the hot broth, but I don't like tea at all. I've been taking a teaspoon of honey a couple times a day. It seems to help. I used to get it all the time as a kid, but I haven't gotten it in years now. Thanks for the tips.
You're a believer in the free market, right? If there was an opportunity to undercut the competition don't you think that the many makers of cash register and POS systems would be doing it?
Yup. Those machines are everywhere now. Chili's, Red Robin, Olive Garden, etc. There is no real POS...
I wasn't aware that iPads had thermal printers, credit card readers, a full kiosk, etc.
Do you know how much a good touch screen cash register costs, like the ones that Wendy's uses? $2k. And, those aren't built the same way these kiosks would be built.
How Much Does a Point Of Sale System...
Did you miss my 3rd to last sentence? That $3650 is for hardware only. You know there is a difference between the crap that is bought from Best Buy and industrial type hardware, right? Spending $3650 on the setup just in the hardware and build out is a very real possibility. I used to work for a...
When was the last time you priced out a top of the line enterprise server? Because I priced out a semi-modest one a month or two ago, and I can assure you it was more than 5 grand.
Fabrication of cabinet - $750
Graphics on cabinet - $100
Computer - $600 (including OS, a lot of these machines...
Well, if she took the gun out of her car and into the gun store, she's not following FOPA guidelines on transporting. So, she wouldn't be covered by the law, and therefore broke NYS law because she was in possession of a pistol without a license.
This, this, this.
I did this with my now 5 year old. At first, it was awesome. He was taking an interest in what I did. Then, after the 5th day in a row, it got a little tedious. It petered off over the course of a few months. Now, he only asks when I go shooting and they're out. I can't wait to...
I've got a 5 year old and am planning on buying him a bb gun for his 6th birthday in March. Kids can't really reason at 3 years old. I have a hard enough time with my 5 year old. Even adults make rash, dumb decisions sometimes.
It sounds like you did a good job explaining to him exactly what...
Aguila brass cased is even cheaper at $10/50. This works fine in my M&P. You can pick up a case for $200 with free shipping. Split it with a buddy, and you're down to $100 for 500 rounds. You end up saving yourself almost $30 after tax.
One of these days my wife will totally come around to owning her own guns. Now, she just goes and shoots mine. When she finally does cave in, I plan on buying her a Muddy Girl camo AR.
Permit for what? You don't need a permit to own a handgun in Texas or Maine. She was perfectly legal to possess the pistols in both her starting and ending points.
I'll bet this gets plea bargained down and she takes a deal.
Question for the LEO and FFL here.
What happened if she left the locked handgun in the car and went into the gun store and said, "I have a pistol in the car that I want to sell." Would she still be covered by FOPA since it does allow for necessary stops? (I'd argue that getting gas money for a...
It's because of the field you are/were in. Those professors are very process oriented and structured. Something is either right or wrong. Most of my professors in the IT field at RIT were the same way. Although, we did get to write up our lab reports on the computer. :D
My grandfather had a ND when cleaning a pistol. He was going down to Fl for a few weeks to take care of some business so he wanted to make sure the pistol was ready to go for my grandmother in case she needed it. He went to disassemble it and had a ND. A week or two later my grandmother ran out...
