My wife gave me a Swiss Army fisherman close to 35-40 years ago. I still carry it just about every day. The scales are battle scarred and the aluminum frame is corroded, but I will never part with it.
Some of these SA knives are pretty silly.
Project is on hold for a while, but not kaput. I traded emails with the company that did my shotgun parts. To Cerakote the grip frame will be about $70. Powder coating, which is apparently the existing finish, is a possibility too. So I'm going to take a ride to see color samples in person...
The brass grip frame from that guy is 350, wow! Something wacky with my browser as the prices are on his website. Ruger site is a good source for info too.
I just like the look, and honestly the single six is a cheap hoot. I'm leaning toward using Cerakote. Did a Mossberg shot gun with it...
I have a single six that I've installed Williams fiber optic sights on and put a trigger spring. Being someone who can't leave well enough alone, I've been surfing around to see how others have tricked out their revolvers. Big mistake. I discovered brass grip frames for the single six and...
I built a rig from a Lamiglass standup tuna rod and put a Penn Mariner reel on it spooled with monel. Using divers I would troll for lakers...used to kill them at Racquet Lake. This was before cannon balls and all that stuff. My rig would get down very deep, so I'm a fan. Used it for...
What a great story. Wife and I were married in Marshfied a hundred years ago. This is the most interesting thing I ever heard about Marshfield. Thanks for posting.
Welcome to the forum, Yeah, the wind is blowing so much snow around there's no point in trying to get out of the house. And it just uncovers the ice underneath. I used to like winter.
I had a BLR in 308 that I picked up used....very accurate. Real nice, but I sold it. Been hoping to snag an old Savage 99 in 308 for years...unlikely to happen.
Prices for any of the majors are high.

It sure seems that the whole scope and accoutrement industry drives the market place to stuff that, although functional, is based more on aesthetics. Proprietary metals, alloys, coatings, finishes, etched in torque values, verticle vs horizontal clamping...nuts instead of torx screws...what in...
Several years ago I called that guy from Tauris holsters and asked if I could meet up and discuss a fitted CC holster. He was in New Hartford, outside of Utica. Never happened, and as he told me, he was "at the end of the trail." Nice guy, don't know if he's still around, but he did have...
Hey, good points all. Yes, tapered barrel. No sights, so I got a steel Picatinny (also made in Czechia) for scope mounting...the rear screws are longer than the front ones ( the receiver is patterned for Remington 700 stuff). Yup, medium height should work...and I'm thinking steel over...
Sold off a gun or two this summer and bough a new CZ 600 American in 308. And just ordered a Meopta scope to mount on a rail. All made in the Czech Republic...I went with a theme.
Anyway, now shopping for rings. The scope is a one inch tube with a 44mm objective. The rifle will see more...
These people are the worst. No honor. May they burn in hell.
True, Arnold became a traitor and is rightly remember as such. But at one time he was not. His story is baffling.
This hot on the heels of the squirrel story...that guy supposedly had a "short" barrel rifle...what came of this? Last I knew he's not been charged. They came to kill to kill the critters...and oh, look, a rifle....
I've got an old Mossberg single shot...perfect. In fact it was called the Boy Scout rifle. Young kid, adult, whatever, contemplation shot to shot. I've no idea what might be currently available, and decent priced. My two cents...something that can be passed down, make it memorable.
My KelTec P3AT...had the damn thing forever. Never fails. Been out of production for some time now. I've got to believe used ones and old stock are dirt cheap, I probably couldn't give mine away. I've tweak it...money down the drain, but it fills the bill. I'll stick with it.
